It's so comical looking at his training leading up to states. Like what was he thinking? It's one thing to do treadmill workouts during the winter when the trails are packed with snow and ice, and touching up on the speed as an ultra runner. But you at some point pivot your training for some big weeks and days in the mountains if you want to get top ten at western states. Seth Ruhling and Adam Peterman faster sessions were around 5:20 min miles pace for their threshold sessions. They weren't doing 400s on the track, that energy is better spent for trails runs if you're training for western states.

He already posted after the race that he was healthy. So no he’s not gonna make an injury excuse.
