I can't tell if you idiots didn't read the piece or have terrible reading comprehension. She literally writes about the positives and negatives of anonymity on the internet and then describes some possible options going forward, including preserving anonymity. Gotta tell you, it's hard to support freedom of speech when there are so many lazy idiots out there...
direct quote from her article:
" However, the anonymity of message boards is a liability because people can say what they wish without cost to their reputations. Anonymity permits vices to reign unfettered. So, what can we do to redeem these spaces? 1. Make Them Not Anonymous"
Apparently, I read more than you, "bro."
Put the shotgun down, Sir! Some of us did read the piece and noted the same things you just shouted about.
This board would be unbelievably boring if everyone were required to post under their own name. I mean unspeakably dull. And frankly, the entire board would probably collapse from lack of interest. I really don’t give a hot damn about the latest application of Norwegian double threshold. But I always give a thumbs up to Rich in CA. You dig? I couldn’t name the finalist of the footlocker cross country championships if my life depended on it. But the madness and frivolity and stupidity of this board is a lot of fun and keeps me coming back.
Think about all the people coming to this board for the first time and see all the insane political BS, terrible opinions, and down right hate and decide to never come back.
It's probably a lot of people, but the brojos don't seem to care.
Good riddance, you think I want this place to turn into Reddit?
