Don’t quite thing he was calling out us here, think he is saying that people on the boards might be able to argue about HIS mentality of how he approached the race, Marco ran a hell of a race today
Marco ran "a hell of a race" tactically until the last 100m. The last time I checked, you can't win the NCAA 5000m by just running 4900m. I'm good with his honesty and transparency, the only issue with him (and I think he will out grow it), is the dog eat dog win or die mentality. Yeah, it gets you pumped up like caffeine, but eventually it wears off, and then you need more of it to perform well and then the stress of "me against the world" becomes more of a drain and stress rather then just preparing yourself the best you can and executing. I think his coach Marcus O. knows this, and will work with him to balance himself out a bit and to train and compete for himself not just to prove people wrong and justifying who he is. The dude has talent, and I hope he channels his past life experiences into a strength and so much a chip on his shoulder.
