Kerr had a really impressive finish in Glasgow last year. 7:42.98 with 52.64, 25.19 and 12.58 as finishing splits. But I don't see him being able to keep of with Jakob when he gradually turns up the pace over the final 1000m. In Apeldoorn, Jakob's final 1000m was 2:19.07 and his final 800m was 1:49.98 (final 200m was 26.3, I wasn't able to find the rest of the splits). His finish in Nanjing wasn't as crazy over the last 1000m, but he did what he had to do to win (2:22.77, 1:52.49 and 26.67) . If he was pushed more, he could've done a significantly faster final kilometer. (When Kerr won in Glasgow his final 1000m was 2:24.62 and final 800m was 1:52.91)
(Jakob can also do a really solid final 400m in a 3000m with high pace. His 7:23.63 race (Eugene 2023) had these closing splits: 54.0, 25.8, 12.8)
