He has no interest at all in other parts of Europe - just Ukraine.

Mainland Europe is pretty much completely safe. Russia isn’t going to get into a confrontation with nations with legitimate nuclear deterrence. Part of the reason the USSR dissolved in the first place was because numerous SSRs were a financial drain on the Rodina requiring massive subsidies from Russia. The Baltics were pretty much a money pit and they likely have no interest in going back into a place like Moldova (poorest country in Europe).

They want to be part of Russia? Then why are they fighting against Russia's aggression? Just because you want to be part of Russia does not mean most people feel the same way. Ukraine joining NATO is not an existential crisis as it is an alliance based around the ¨attack on 1 is an attack on all" philosophy which Russia should not care about unless they attack a member.
They also never promised to not join NATO. That myth was circled by the Kremlin after Poland and the baltics joined NATO and is in reference to the treaty around the reunification of Germany.

I saw that NATO chief Mark Rutte said Zelensky needs to repair the relationship.
I have seen most EU countries express "support" for Zelensky and Ukraine but I have not seen what they meant by "support". I assume they want Ukraine to win but that does not imply who they thought was more disrespectful in last week's meeting.
Also, I thought this was very interesting. Trump is basically asking for something in return for all the financial/military support from the US. After last week's meeting blow-up the UK expressed its support for UK and agreed to another $2.8 Billion (if I remember the number correctly) loan. Notice that the $2.8B is a loan. It seems like Zelensky wants the US support to be a grant. Trump's attitude is American grants go to Americans first.
Here is a comment to all those who think this was a set-up by Trump. What I have read is that twice before the US thought they had an agreement and Zelensky never signed it. Then he agreed to sign it with a White House meeting. Of course we never know if what we read in the media is the whole truth but if that is true then the logical conclusion is that it was Zelensky who was trying to pull off some kind of PR stunt instead of moving the process forward.

The French government collapsed and Europe fought decades long wars because of the problems caused from France helping the US win independence. Not only did the debt help cause the French Revolution but America defeating the British inspired the French people to rise up and fight a civil war against the person who gave the US the money.
France went into severe debt. People were starving. Taxes were raised to pay off the debts from supporting America. Disease was rampant. The Bastille was stormed. People stormed the palace. Austria and Britain went to war against France. Prussia and most of the rest of Europe joined too. King Louis got his head cut off. Marie got her head cut off. Their children died in captivity from neglect. Peasants were murdered by the new government for not being loyal to the revolution. People broke into prisons to kill clergy and others arrested without cause. The Pope died in French captivity. Robespierre took over the government and got his head cut off. The Directory was bad. Riots in the streets during those five years. France was fighting in several continents to avoid being taken over by the European coalitions. Napoleon staged a coup. Napoleon tried to take over Europe. France was forced to sell off most of its land in America to continue to fight wars, the Napoleonic Purchase. More and more wars in Europe. Millions of people died as Europe was at war for decades because of it.
