How can you complain about Strangio’s age when Casey Clinger was in the same race. Clinger graduated high school in 2016. Dude was born in ‘98 he’s 26 years old.
In 2 years, Clinger will be as old as FRESHMAN from Africa. How can you complain about Clinger when the NCAA has people just starting college at just under 30 years of age.
Smith's 'watch throw' was 60' 8.25". That's currently #14 on Tffrs. He may have to toss again at the conference meet to be sure to make nationals.
Smith plans to try throwing the watch with a different accent at his next meet.
They also may have to reconfigure the safety netting for this event. A fan picked up the watch near it's mark, the face read 7:52.
Fake record. These tracks are trampolines. Those boards probably got him another 10ft. Back in the day, stopwatches would get stuck in the cinders when we were a real country

The tracks help but not this much for all these crazy throws. But we all know what does. Its not possible he threw farther than Snell.
Someone on another thread was saying his guys maybe didn’t secure their 3K spot at NCAA’s in this race. Crazy fast running this year
As much as Smith talks about how it’s all about the process, track is still a zero sum game. You get in or you don’t. He’s a competitive dude. Sometimes that’s going to come out in not-so-gracious ways.

Perfectly human! It means he now has to drag some guys to another meet, or maybe change up his plan for the conference meet. Stuff happens.
Imagine telling someone in 2020 that a 7:41 3k wouldn't get you to nationals in 2025. What an era we are in now.
damn crazy that all the athletes and coaches around the world discovered the internet and changed their entire training ethos independently at the same time and it worked for all athletes everywhere and banked tracks like BU were invented and the concept of pacing was discovered, all in 2021. What a crazy year, don't think anything else happened though.
I'm surprised to see this reaction from Smith given his described approach of “focusing on the process” instead of focusing on results. Not that I mind it, just surprised to see it from him specifically
