Do you like LIV golf? The players receive multiple times what they made on the Tour. GTS is paying above market value salaries and I don’t believe there will be enough revenue to keep it going past a couple years.
The problem with GST is it will result in watered down competition. The best runners can’t be in top form for races in April, May, June and late June with the USATF coming up. It will end up mostly being sit and kicks. I don’t know if that will appease the record craving LRC crowd.
Why would I care how much track athletes make? Do NFL quarterbacks making $50-60M per year, give you a warm fuzzy feeling?
are you braindead? golfers and nfl players make a ton of money already. track athletes don't. your little pea brain can't decipher the difference? you probably opposed ncaa athletes getting paid despite generating billions for people off the field. coward
Again, why would I care. It’s supply and demand and It’s got nothing to do with me. GST will pay over market salaries for a few years and then disband. Athlete compensation will go back to supply and demand. Will that be hard for you?
As for college athletes’ pay, I’ve never had an opportunity to vote for, or against it.
Noah Lyles level trash talking. And I love it. Bravado, rivalries, historic performances...great for track. More of this.
Honestly he’s scared. He could have raced the best in the world last week at Millrose but instead decided to hold what essentially is a time trial. If he continues to avoid racing like this he’s going to keep getting beat when it really counts like he has been.
He’s a man with a hit list. Two world records in his opening race. He’ll get to them when it’s time.

you didn't have a chance to vote for or against this either HUH. i can't comprehend coming on a message board to get mad that runners are being paid more money. but now im mad that you're mad about that. lol. either way use your brain - more money in the sport = better athletes, more exposure etc.. its a good thing.
the diamond league had plenty of time and couldn't break through. you will never see me cheer for them to keep the monopoly they blew.
Nice post by Jakob, I'm a big fan of him. I think my favorite quote from the last few weekends of indoor track action was from Grant Holloway, the guy who has never lost a 60m hurdles race over 42" barriers and refused to call himself the GOAT, saying something like "once you call yourself the GOAT, that's when you start to get worse." Love that mentality and honestly feels like that is more in line with how Jakob's personality usually is, which makes me wonder if he has a media person in his team who wrote this. Don't get me wrong, Grant and Jakob are both very confident, but the way they talk is mostly along the lines of not wanting to stop and be satisfied with themselves until they have all the records and all the titles.
Great to see that Jakob is looking forward to racing Yared. Yared's racing schedule from early April to late June is well known. Let's hope Jakob follows through on his words.
this might be the dumbest post ive ever seen on here (and there is a lot of competition). jakob races anyone anywhere anytime and has for years. what planet are you on
Exactly. Its not like we're talking about scowling Sid here...
jacob is lousy at following a pacer, too far back, maybe afraid to clip him.
this is something you can practice, ideally the runner in front has the same cadence and your follow step for step, which I did per change, with an elite cutting the wind.
the 430 repeat miles were incredibly smooth and easy, i would grunt out 450 mile repeats alone.
coach said you were racing. i said no. it was relaxed.
i said i followed step for step with the elite, and he said you can't do that.
great coach, no debate about the times.
anyway Jacob will certainly get the 1500 record if he can follow and draft properly.
i actually think, his tactics may revolve around front running because he's actually afraid to run in the pack, or get clipped, certainly not comfortable, even when you have the one guy to follow.
also with the kick business of Jacob. he outkicked Cheriott a 143.1 guy for gold in tokyo 1500 OG.
Cheriott "did a Jacob" and set him up. Jacob outkicked him.
Today, Jacob is better than before.
I have no idea what that boy is going to do this year at the end of the day.

Contrary to popular (US) belief, Millrose is not the greatest indoor event in the world. It’s probably the most entertaining but Jakob is well within his rights to run at Lievin, which is much closer to home for him and actually frequently gets some of the strongest fields in the indoor season.
The one thing you can’t accuse him of is dodging people, he’s proven over the years that he’s happy to race even when not fully fit.

I've been saying this stuff before Paris. They don't learn they just cope. We will revisit after World 1500 m final
