Great race. Glad to see this year is shaping up to be what we all want. No need for any hate. Just LOVE the 1500/mile, the greatest race in track! Some of what we can expect:
Jakob will break the World Record in the 1500m but might not even with the WC
Jakob, Hocker, Kerr, or Nuguse will break the mile record at the Pre Classic with guys LOSING the race in 3:44. Imagine running 3:44 and losing!
Hocker-Kerr-Nuguse will race 8 times in 12 weeks at GST
Green, Gary Martin, Elliot Cook, Ethan Strand, and about ten other NCAA guys will be fighting it out for the NCAA record
The indoor records will all get broken [already happened]
Kessler will continue to level-up and we'll have a "big five" in the event
Laros, the 20 year old Dutchman will run 3:27 in the 1500m
Myers, an Australian kid, will break the Australian record in the mile
And we'll get to see a World Championships in Tokyo that might be the most anticipated rematch in mile history: Kerr vs. Hocker vs. Jakob vs. Yared vs. the World.
It’s definitely a golden age for the 1500, and it’s not just the times and the talent, it’s all of the personalities and drama. Jakob is truly a gift to the sport. I love me some Kipyegon or Kipchoge, but nice and platitudes is not nearly as fun. Thank you Jakob and his cast of foils. Kerr is best supporting actor, but Hocker and others have enough ego to make it interesting. Too bad Nordas is not a bit faster…..

Wonder if this will break them completely, especially Kerr who seems to need less competitions.
Why are you discounting it? He did run 1500 meters in 3:29, right? And the mile in 3:45. right? What is to "discount" in your opinion?
The context here was who has had the shortest-lived WR on the men's side. LetsRuns' UI isn't the best at showing this, but shows up if you follow the "re:" link in the heading of a comment

I think we'll see some measured efforts in some of these GST meets. Though GST will be done by early summer, and Kerr doesn't have to worry about selection for the GB team so he can pick and choose what he wants to to do after GST. He could skip Pre as well which Hocker can't do as a Nike athletes.

Yared still have the honour of being a former WR holder no matter the length of time.
Side note/question: Is this the shortest-lived WR on the men's side? (I know Sifan Hassan lost her 10000 record to Letesenbet Gidey after just 2 days on June 6/8, 2021).
I would think the WR has been broken several times in the same field event.

We could use the Government Pension Fund Global to spend 1.7 trillion dollars on our military or even better, on Israels.
