Not pacer's fault at all. He came through 400m in 56.high and not a single runner went with him. Ray Flynn yelled at him to slow down.

The lineup for the start looked like 2 turns to me, the better part of 20 m between the groups.

The official results page says it is only 1 turn:

So Tuohy and everyone else who started in the front group ran extra distance.
I would suggest you look at where the M lined up and where the W lined up as they were not the same.
2:06 mark in each video shows starting positions and as stated they are not the same.

The women ran a full lap in lanes while the men cut in after the first turn. The starts were correct.
