I had this from Covid, actually. I was coughing so much and so hard that I pulled a bunch of muscles in my chest. It made every cough a new adventure in pain. Takes a long time to heal too.
I had what I was sure was costochondritis for about 2 weeks after adopting a serious upper body lifting regimen. I had the sense it was just an adaptation, and indeed it never happened again.
It wasn't that bad, but I couldn't do any exercise. Made my arms weak and useless
Walking pneumonia is another possibility. I had it a few years ago. Weird pains in my back and side of rib cage, felt it most strongly at the end of inhalation while trying to run. No other symptoms. One episode of this was enough. Went to urgent care, got diagnosed and cured with antibiotics.
I agree with malmo - don't ask about it on here. Surely it's likely to confuse you more!? See a professional in person. Someone that you trust or have had a good experience with in the past. Good luck. I hope it's nothing or that you just tore a tiny muscle or something.
You can work through a lot of health issues and injuries on your own. This isn't one of them - go to a doctor. There is a chance this is something very serious, but something that if caught and treated early you can move past with good health in the future.

WellI certainly don't want to a) have to go to my primary care doctor who knows way less about sports injuires than you or I. b) get referred to someone who is going to do an EKG, MRI, etc.
1) That would take a LOT OF time. 2) I imagie most likely I've just strained a muscle so there is nothing they cna do. 3) If people were paying out of pocket, there is a close to zero percent chance they'd have all of those tests done since everything indicates I strained it on my run.
I was thinking of just calling up my physical therapist as you don't need a referral. He also does some back manipulation. He might massage it a little, give me a little ultrasound, hell even dry needle my calves when I'm in there. That way I'd at least feel like I was doing something while my body was most likely healing itself. So many times we go to a doc or trainer and think, "Wow they did x and I got better when you very well might have gotten better" without it
But would ice or heat help?
What am I missing here? Definitely, at a minimum, see your PT. They can at least provide professional input about whether you really need to see a doctor, or they may be able to give you an effective and efficient treatment protocol.

I have people from different parts of the world like France, England, Australia, China, Japan and Singapore telling me they get severe headaches, some with severe muscle pain and joint aches as if they aged a 20 years just like that, nausea and vomiting, reactivation of mental health issues like schizo and depression and anxiety attacks, irregular heart rate and sleeplessness at exactly the same space-time intervals as you do!! Amazing coincidence or some other dark social agenda!
All at the time of the day you mention after adjusting for different time zones. If you are getting your pain the whole evening and night, another guy in Japon is getting his irregular heart rate and migraines at the same exact time as you do after adjusting for time zones!!

what you are experiencing is not a naturally occurring phenomenon. You don’t get no such nonsense as only experiencing pain only at night or only on the daytime, with the rest of time totally zero pain! The evidence is ‘just enough’ and pure objectivity as rekrunner likes to wrongly swear by is not necessary:
1) Abnormality of space-time particulars for your bodily pain that shouldn’t be naturally occurring at all.
2) Stark differences between the level of pain when there is pain and when there is no pain. That again cannot be naturally occurring, not even being surrounded by all your computers and phones and home electricity power!! That’s not enough to create such drastic pain levels.
3)Simultaneity of space-time with many different other people’s pain from many different parts of the world which shows globality of the cause of trigger source!!
4) Since the cause is global with absolute globality, EVEN I myself am getting pangs completely concurrent with you and everyone else who is mentally and emotionally composed enough to be aware of, and since it cannot be from a virus for obvious reasons, and since it must also be invisible and thus somewhat imperceptible, the cause or trigger can only be described as an electromagnetic field with pulsatile frequency. And since it’s globally emitting at the same time everywhere on earth since everybody gets pains all at the same time after adjusting for time zones, the culprit can only be from up there in low earth orbit:
Elon Musk’s stupid starlink satellites fitted with the latest 4g LTE antennas for direct to ground internet messaging and soon internet surfing connectivity!

Remember you must ground your cage in your garden and not in your home electrical earth system which is polluted! And your cage must be at least 42db attenuation for frequencies 500Mhz to 40Ghz. I use shielding paint 2 layers and grounded in the garden. I don’t use shielding cloths. But they should work both equally well.
