The US is the only country in the world that spends this much money (almost 200bn) on police departments and the results are terrible. We have absurd crime rates for a developed country. We have some of the highest recidivism rates in the world.
Maybe throwing more money at it will fix it though, as long none of your precious tax dollars go to improving education or rehabilitation.
