Great Oak returns 1:52, 1:53, 1:56, 1:57. I think they will be hungry after being screwed over at the XC state meet.
JSerra looks better though. They return 1:49, 1:55 (transfer), another 1:55, 1:56, 1:57, 1:59. It’s crazy that 4 of them are only juniors now.
Jesuit returns 6 under 2 minutes
Great Oak has had injury problems season after season over the last few years. Also, Doug Soles is still sowing discord on the GO team from Utah (telling people to skip practice, do their own workouts, ect) so theres gonna be some BS happening on that team this year.
I have not heard about this. Do you have any proof behind this.

She turns 19 in August next year... she'll still be months away from 19 when she graduates HS. That's fairly common. She's not that old bro lol
It’s NOT common to be 19 before you start your freshman year of college. It’s more common to be 17. She should already be a freshman right now.
Did she get held back in grade school ?
When tf do people start grade school. If you turn 6 in kindergarten you graduate when you are 18. It is absolutely not more common to start when you are 17. I was an anomaly in my grade but I also missed the cutoff to start by like a day or 2.
My God, this discussion again. No, actually, it is quite common to be 18-19 going into college (less so if you are 17), especially over the last decade as many states have pushed for earlier cutoff dates. The California cutoff today is 9/1 and Sadie is only days older than that, which would make sense as to why she may've been "held back"
It’s not common to be 19 when you are entering college. Why is it a big deal that she got left behind or started late. Ultimately she’s not a high school age anthlete and it was a good choice to skip track for her high school when she clearly should be a current freshman in college.
She is a day over the limit. She will be 18 when she graduates so it is fine. God I cant stand these people who need to blame other athletes being faster than them on age.

I have had zero interaction with anyone from GO this school year at all. I wish nothing but the best for their program, but I have moved on. I have worked with some of their competitors though that have made huge jumps as a team in XC.
Coach Soles
Ignore them Doug. They just decided to bash your program because your athletes are faster and go on to do better. They are also just nicer than him.
According to athletic.net, Jesuit sophomores Lucas Alberts and Matthew Ogilvie both turned 16 during their freshman track season, they’re going to 17 this year. Also, Aydon Stefanopolous turned 18 right around or near the cut off (Early September 2006- according to a post from cross country express)
Not saying their age is an attribute to their talent or speed, but just an observation I found. Keep in mind too, Pretre finished behind Turk by 6 seconds this year and he’s still 17 (according to athletic.net)

I wouldn't take Athletic.net ages at face value - same with world athletics ages. They are often wrong.
Robar could win if she ran a smart race. She always seems to run in Lane 2 at states. There’s a dark horse girl who’s on her team who ran 2:12 in the DMR at Arcadia after high jumping 5’7” and 44 in the 300 hurdles. She was a finalist in the state hurdles. At Arcadia the DMR was at the end of the meet and was cold. She passed a lot of quality 800m runners the last 100. I’ve never seen a kick like that.
Also to note, Manny Perez should technically still be in hs going by athletic.net- tho ik it can be inaccurate at times (he was, I assume at this point he’s 18, 17 somewhere during his xc freshman season at NAU and 16 at some point during his senior xc season). Alright enough talk of this age stuff- it’s lowk interesting tho.

IIRC athletic.net determines what age they'll be on December 31. It's incorrect to use it as it can be misleading. Alberts and Ogilvie likely have fall/winter birthdays so yes they'll turn 17 but not until way later in this current year.

Again, depends what Perez's birth month is. Spring/summer birth month would make sense.
Stefanopolous is right after the cutoff so it makes sense why he is still in HS, same with Sadie.
But enough about the age (though I do agree it can be interesting lol)
Anyone from SJS? We have some pretty good looking distance teams this year, I look forward to the 4x8 at Masters this season
I’d say besides Jesuit, Broen, and Andrew Burr (if he can recover and have a seaso), we got Vacaville’s Stream Brothers (Cooper Stream 10th, 15:14, 4:17 and Jackson Stream 12th, 15:10, 4:22, 9:23), Andres Lomeli (Kimball 11th)- 15:10, 9:25, 4:30 (track prs are from sophomore year and he made quite the jump this xc season), Elias Thronson (Davis 9th)- 15:31, 4:29 1 mile as an 8th grader, won the 8th grade Nike Outdoor Nationals Mile, has the 3k record for 7th graders, has a lot of potential, Connor Biledou (Granite Bay 10th)- 15:39, no track times, Nevada Union duo of Josh Griffin (12th- 4:17, 1:54, 16:07) and Rowan Henry (11th- 4:29, 1:56, 15:56), Peter Kendall (Twelve Bridges 11th- 15:31, 4:24, 9:45)- all the ones to watch out for from the top of my head in the section.

Woodcreek has also had a stellar distance team this year. Their 7th guy in XC ran 16:30s. Glad to see some Sacramento area schools proving who they can be. I expect their 4x8 team to be potential state qualifiers.
Speaking of, is SJS gonna finally take the top 3 for the 4x8 this year or keep doing their dumb top 2 advancers?
800: Wyland Obando (Wilson LB) should be the favorite, but I’d also watch our for Jackson Hein (Pleasant Valley) and Alden Morales. Makenna Herbst (Carlsbad) and Keaton Robar (Newport Harbor) seem to be the ones to watch out for on the girls side.
1600: Tough to call to be honest- Ben Bouie (CSUS) and Arrin Sagiraju (Dougherty Valley) seem to be the top returners. Marcus Salinas (Clovis East) and Westin Brown (if healthy) can also be right up there. Miles Cook and Aydon Stefanopoulous should also be thrown in the mix. With Sadie out of the picture, Braelyn Combe seems to be the fastest returner, could possibly thrown in Chiara Dailey.
3200: This is a no-brainer, Evan Noonan is getting himself another title. Landon Pretre, Trey Caldwell, Eyan Turk, Eli Fitchen-Young, and Broen Holman can also put up a great fight. Girls side can go either way, however I do think the title will be between Jaelyn Williams, Hanne Thomson, and Rylee Blade.
Now we obv had some breakouts in J.R. Lesher, Griffin Kushen, and Liam Miller but to be fair, I don’t really know what events those three would run in the state meet. Kushen has a history of usually running the 1600 but he seems to have potential to be a solid 3200 runner. Lesher and Miller most likely seem like they would prioritize the 3200.
