If University of Arkansas really only pays 70k. Kiss the distance goodbye and expect a big jump in the portal and no good recruits. No one half way decent will take that job.
There are very good coaches all over the country making much less than that right now. They just have to pick one.

That's sad. It isn't a wage a family can thrive under.
It's perfect for a younger coach wanting to get good experience. Not everyone wants a family in their early years, or ever. If you have high passion for the sport - not a big deal. If not, stay out.
Are we sure the pay is $70k? I haven’t seen that posted anywhere except for on this board. If that is the wage, then that is too low. I have a hard time believing they would only pay 70k for that position.

You have to have good experience to be in the running for a job like Arkansas. What’s up fro’ there? You don’t get Arkansas to “gain” experience.
besides does Arkansas want to hire a young coach. Usually these jobs go to older coaches who are connected. Either that or a female hire for that pay. A coach with 10+ years of experience and head coaching experience either won’t go for that low of pay or Arkansas won’t give them a chance n hell. I just think the whole hiring system is very inappropriate. Should be a comprehensive situation with interviews for 5-10 candidates.
Athletic training position is open at CU Boulder. Could be a fun job.
Their director of operations just retired as well. Carlson’s assembly line continues in paradise…
I've definitely heard some interesting stories about how his phone interviews can go if you're a lower level assistant/volunteer type. He has a "high standard" lol
He’s been pretty open. He won’t hire people that don’t know what’s happening on the high school scene. If you can’t name top recruits in the nation by name and know their PRs he doesn’t want you.

That's stupid. It only takes a few minutes to look up names, times and placings at championship meets.
