who will survive at oregon

I don't know the specifics of Taylor's training, but from what I have heard I find it hard to believe he's only running 40 miles a week. There was an article about Oakridge in the paper within the last year where their coach said, Taylor, Perri, etc. were doing 13 runs a week. That would indicate more than 40 miles a week. That being said, Taylor could blossom at Oregon, and I hope he does. He should have a great group of training partners.

Maybe I'm just old, but what is it with these high school kids who live across the country from each other "dating?"where do high school kids get the money to fly across the country to go to each other's prom? Hell, i only graduated high school 10 years ago and if you were dating a girl AN HOUR away gas money was a freaking issue. Rich parents? I'm sorry, but you clearly crossed a line here. Discussing which Oregon recruits will excel is a perfectly acceptable topic, but come on, criticizing Nicole and Matt for thier personal life is inappropriate, invasive, and flat out rude. I don't think you are guilty from being old, but pathetic and creepy. They are highschool kids who relate and are dating-- let them be.

Probably the same way all kinds of other high school kids take class trips, spring break vacations etc. There is a question of importance, but kids on my team have taken school trips to different states and sides of the country. They've also done a lot of other traveling. I'm not sure why we're making a flight to go to a prom into such a big deal.

I've never heard of any of them anyways. So that is good news.

It's a lot better than what some of the other high school kids are spending money on and doing. At least going to a senior prom is building good high school memories to cherish.

im sorry, but what the heck is the hype with oregon??? who cares, they wont finish top ten next year at nationals...i dont get it... a team like dartmouth will be better than them...so what is the deal...dont get it...is just the whole past greatness thing? someone explain

oregon is not going to go from not making nationals to a top ten finish...dont get me wrong a few of these freshman could be good in a few years....and i actually like aj acosta because hes got a bit of personality, but he was educated at junior cross nationals at van courtland....him and the rest of these kids coming out of high school have a long way to go...people just love to hype up high school runners when in reality they very rarely pan out...oregon will have a tough enough time actually getting to nationals...

No way... IF Rupp and Biwott are healthy they SHOULD be top-15 guys - top-10 if they run to their capability. Also, I guarantee Vin will get three of those recruits across the line in the top-50 (I'll bet on Acosta, Klotz, and Stoutenburg). That is a trophy team.

300 points gets you in the top 10 remember that

And 150-175 will get you into the top-4...

kiptoo will be eligible for masters status in a year or two

I have a feeling what this person was reffering to is the fact that you've got kids - KIDS - flying across the country to see each other more or less monthly by the looks of their blogs.

Hell, I work full time and can't afford to do that.

i dont really know aj acostas entire running career but the only times ive seen him race are when he made a show of himself at the indoor games and lost to a quality irish kid and when he finished 9th or something at junior nationals...where are people coming up with him finishing top 50...footlockers and nationals are two different stories..
