Why was the word “woke” brought up by the poster who called Brazier a head case? What did that have to do with the subject of this thread? Brazier won a World Championship Gold medal at the age of 22. He is not a head case. If you want to say Steve Holman was a head case, maybe so. But if Brazier is, then we all should be, as he did something at 22 which was more impressive and took more courage and poise than anything you will do in your life.
As was pointed out, YOU brought up race. You have ywt to address why? Give it up, those guys have you nailed.
You failures always need a scapegoat. You are morons so you fall for the code language which your masters prescribe for you. Woke has been weaponized to attempt to label and control those of us who are more intelligent. It is not “woking.”
Eh, probably Grant's. While Brazier definitely had more success and was extremely dominant (winning medals and titles while setting records at every stage of his career), it was also marred by injury. Grant's career has been filled with disappointments as far as medals/titles, at least he's been blessed with the ability to stay healthy. At least Grant will get to say that he was able to leave everything on track. The national records also don't hurt either.
On this week's podcast we started talking about the thread where Mike Scannell, Grant's coach, said Grant wasn't fast.
We then ended up discussing his career, whether he should move to the marathon and how talented he was. But then we segued into a debate of Grant Fisher vs fellow Michigander Donavan Brazier. Whose career would you rather have and who has more talent?
Many might think the answer is obvious Fisher has he has 2 Olympic medals but Brazier absolutely destroyed the rest of the world to run 1:42 and win Worlds in 2019.
I would chose the career that includes a world championship. If you ain’t first, you’re last. I’m honestly surprised how many are picking Grant. Obviously two Olympic medals is incredible, but I feel like one gold beats two bronze, even if they’re Olympic.
Yeah. I think talent-wise, it’s not close. Brazier had to the potential to break the WR.
The reason why I might (not 100%) choose Fisher’s career is I’m thinking about career in terms of all races, training and injuries. I can’t the mental battles Brazier has had to deal with these past 5 years.
Fisher can sleep night knowing he’s not close to being the best in the world and never will be. Brazier has had to wrestle with knowing his injuries are his only limiting factor.
I still love olympic medals, but as an older person looking at life from afar now, I would love to tell my kids (and anyone else willing to listen) I was the champion. World Champion. The best. I would love olympic gold first, but world gold to me is >>>>>>>better than "medalist" when I get introduced.

Especially if you aint first or second. Ricky Bobby agrees. Brazier all the way.

Brazier is more talented (possibly the most talented 800 runner ever), and the 2019 WC gold remains more impressive than anything that Fisher has done in his career. However, Fisher has still had the better career, especially because he is still healthy and improving, and he has a great chance to someday threaten the AR in the marathon in addition to his track accolades.
Side note, Scannell's comments kinda rub me the wrong way. You don't break four minutes in high school as a converted soccer player without being a mega talent. Scannell is clearly a great coach who deserves plenty of credit for what he's done with Grant, but like many many coaches I've met, he strikes me as an egotist.

1/10. Not working. Have your DF masters crank it up.
Depends how much they made tbh. I’m sure brazier made bank for a few years, he even got that NBC commercial of him fishing before he disappeared forever
If grant wanted to be a fast twitcher middle distance type like Donovan I think he could have been a sub 1:42 guy with 46 400 speed.
No. You can’t “want to be” a fast twitch person. That’s not how it works and that’s not what he is. Brazier was a better 800 runner in HS than Grant will ever be in life.
Grant is one of the slower runners even at 5k/10k. His bread is buttered with strength.
Grant’s, as long as I can have his mental toughness. Brazier cracked under pressure and blamed it on injuries (which all the woke sycophants deny screechily).
Brazier was a world champion, something Grant can never achieve. So who cracks under pressure? Check your racism.
