Im saying it takes a crappy candidate to get beaten by a crappy candidate.
Democrats were not happy with the Biden/Harris administrarion for SO MANY reasons. Most die hard liberal/democrat people I know seemed unenthusiastic about Kamala at best, and genuinely upset about her nomination at worst. This reflects in the polls and on election night.
People were fired up about how much they disliked Trump as president so they were willing to vote for anyone to get him out of office. So they threw Grandpa on the ballot because he’s a familiar name/face and arguably had a pretty solid and respectable track record back when he had decent cognition skills. That presidency had very lukewarm at best reception from the Democrats and swing voters, which resulted in very upset republican voters. Nominating the VP of that administration was a dumb decision. If a better candidate was nominated Trump would’ve lost by a mile again.
Trump is very disliked, but the Biden/Harris administration is also very disliked.
Anyone but Trump only works if you can set up an administration that people are actually confident in.
Trump got elected because Biden and Harris's policies are sh!t and people are tired of paying the price for them. Who knew that out-of-control inflation, unfettered illegal immigration (which is then subsidized with taxpayer money) and geopolitical policy that brings us closer to WW3 wouldn't be popular.
Living in the world of the right-wing echo chamber must be very reassuring to you.
Fun fact: Trump has to work another 4 years. He will not like that.
And his biggest supporters have to live with the consequences as well.
Voters get the governments they deserve. This will be very true in the next 4 years (assuming there will still be elections after that) - but not what they hoped for.

Have you not been following? Nobody loves to work hard more than Trump. He's been campaigning round the clock for this. And he'll stand before reporters fielding questions every single day like he did in his first term.
Libs have weak arguments but Trump's work ethic is the weakest of all.
No need to say 'congrats'. None of us did anything other than vote. Regardless who wins this I hope everyone just farking moderates the decision and name-calling. Can't we all just get along?
That's what I just tried to do...lol then dude calls me mentally ill. lol WTF did I do? And yes, a congrats is appropriate. It's an election, it's a race, it's a competition. If your guy wins, we say congrats, hope it works out, I am sure you are happy and to the victor goes the spoils. It's just common sense stuff.
You are the adult, showing class, accepting the apparent will of the people. In a "Brave New World" some decency and honor must continue. We will survive. Let poor winner gloat; keep showing them that American spirit of fair play and indominatibility!

Yeah, he doesn't like to do that "work" stuff, so I will be seriously surprised if he stays in office for the full four years. I wish him good health, but after the 2026 celebrations of the country's 250 years, I think he's somewhat likely to bow out--nothing afterward could match the attention he'll get then.
And he may get fed up with the abuse that he'll get between his inauguration and 7/4/26. In any case, just as you say: Trump fans, just as EVERYTHING that's happened during these last 45 months has been laid at Biden's door, EVERYTHING that happens after 1/20/25 will belong to Trump and to YOU who voted for him. Fair is fair.

Thank you for your warm wishes, kibitzer! I'm happy to say that he has a great plan for us!
Looking forward to the Trump tax cuts being solidified on day 1. Those were slated to be sunsetted, so happy to keep more money in my pocket.
With regard to migration, I'm looking forward to "stay in place" on day 1. Longer term, any illegal immigrants who have committed violent crimes will be rounded up and jailed or deported. I'm not expecting any more than those 2 measures, but that should have a chilling effect on the illegal border crossings.
Tariffs, which will require an increase in prices of goods from China, is a necessary evil to essentially fine China for intellectual property theft and other unfair practices. The Dems have talked about this, but didn't have the balls to do it. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a little to do what's right.
Trump will continue to support the wars in Ukraine and Israel, but he's no chump like the current lot. Russia, Iran, and China are not happy that he was elected. China will have to hope for a Democrat to be elected in 4 more years so they can take over Taiwan.
And, of course...drill baby drill! Energy self-sufficiency is paramount in this hostile world we live in.
In the 1930's the term was coined for what happened in the rise of the fascist states as a "collective psychosis". It easily applies the Trump culture in the US today. Americans don't see it - not the right - because they are afflicted by it. But the rest of the world does.
