Meanwhile Todej Pogacar, the greatest racer of his and probably any generation, will smile and gleefully congratulate his competitors whether he wins or loses. ...and he has never disrespected a fellow competitor or other displays of insecurity
Yeah, moron sounds pretty accurate. After all it's Josh's weird abrasive-ness that is keeping this going. Jakob wants the best for his competitors and for athletes, which is why he is so transparent about his training and his lifestyle. Meanwhile, Danny the headcase and the crew are busy cutting contracts and somehow keeping that team under Brooks.
Many overthink this. Kerr took personal attacks at Jakob that crossed a line to some degree. It’s one thing to be mad that you think someone was dismissive of your title by calling you “the next guy” or bringing up their sickness as a reason for why they lost. Those aren’t personal attacks. If Josh had just said what he mostly says and stuck to initially…aka I beat him, I peaked better, his tactics are flawed, I don’t make excuses when I’m sick etc etc this wouldn’t have ballooned.
Instead Kerr publicly attacked his personality, and his brothers (the yes-men). Not to his face, mind you when they had plenty of face time after.
Thats where it took off, and Kerr will never apologize because that’s not in his nature. Jakob will back off the talk of one good day etc but he is never going to pretend like Kerr is a guy he likes even if he has to begrudgingly respect him as a competitor.
We’ll see how Kerr responds next year to far more racing and pressure to look like the best guy more than a few times a year.
Kerr has never gone sub-3:30 in a race that Jakob wasn't in. He's fastest time in a non-Jakob race was 3:30.51 (Zurich 2023)
Also, Josh Kerr after the Eugene 2022 final: "I'm in 3:27 shape now" (Kerr's fastest 1500m that year: 3:30.60)
To add to that: nobody on the circuit has gone sub-3:30 in a race without Jakob, except Tim C back in 2021. Everyone ont he circuit owes their PBs to Jakob
Kerr stands by what he says? Are you delusional? Kerr literally just got silver after talking all year about how he is the best 1500m runner in the world and that "his favorite thing about winning was everyone else losing" no joke that was an actual quote by him. He is even more arrogant than Jakob.
I don't like Kerr either. What I meant is that he at least stands by what he says when he says he's gonna beat Jakob. They both embarrass themselves regardless, but Jingy more so, especially with his horrible race tactics.
Hocker is better than both of them.
You couldn't have script the Olympics better with Hocker winning gold. Only thing better would have been the top 3 all be Americans

I think Kerr will react better to his failure to win gold this year than Jakob. Kerr is a far more reflective character than Jakob, more adaptable, and has a better perspective on his races - in the last year alone he placed his HM, his 2 mile WR, and his course record at 5th Ave in solid context. Jakob never does that. He's a grade-A narcissist and his post-race comments are squarely aimed at protecting his self-image as the best guy, not just the best guy, but the best by some distance. It's why he continues to front-run the championship races when he knows it's not his path to victory. He believes that he's so much better than everyone else that the only way he can lose is if he messes up or he's ill. In other words, he believes he's always in control and nothing anyone else does matters. A slither of reflection crept in in his Insta post after the Olympics, but I would bet that he's extinguished that. He'll be back, doing what he does next year. He'll win when he's paced, he'll set some records. He'll lose in Tokyo because he won't accept that he's not clearly the best.

Bro Hocker is a straight demon. There is a reason the devil helped him win Gold.
the guy literally said “god carried me across the line”
Hocker is insane, I’m glad we keep him in his one wierd category
I bet this guy is still thinking about Kerr when he's f*cking his wife.
Who thinks white fffing? Seriously you must be the joy of the ladies- women don’t want you to think- they like when you do and be.
I blackout everytime I fff my girlfriend because I’m a real man. You guys thinking during the unspeakable and undress diva me are beta.
also who even talks about it? I feel lesser for commenting. There are some things you speak of and debate in language- and then their are rituals and things we do in silence that can’t be spoken

Saying that Jakob isn’t a reflective character is very strange IMO -it’s exactly his very reflective character that brings him most of his problems and hate from people who don’t understand or agree with his reflections. F.x the famous “just the next guy”, meaning I’m not focused on my competitors -I just hope to become that good that I don’t have to. Yes, so good that I even don’t have to focus on tactics, but only focusing on running fast….
So is the mentality mentioned above arrogant? Well, it might be incorrect, but that’s not the same as arrogant, narcissistic or delusional. -As long as there’s a good chance of being right (even if one turns out to be wrong) it’s OK in my view. The question is then: How are the chances for young Ingebrigtsen being or becoming significantly better than his nearest competitors? Answer: In 2023 he was maybe as much as 2.5-3 sec better than Kerr, IMO -this is enough to take away any basis for arrogance or narcissism..!! -Jakob just said it as it was…
2. Front running as hubris: Hubris isn’t narcissism, it’s just hubris. And that can be a gift (success or a learning point if failure) -when Rudisha won OG in London in a new WR a lot of us would have called it hubris if he had failed. The same with Komen in his 3000m. And Cheruiyot in Doha. And when Coe ran the first lap in 49.2 at Euros champs 800m, and faded on the home straight evil tongues could have called it narcissistic or hubris, but I think none would do after watching his career…
Yes, Jakob has tried different strategies with success (f.x not front running in the Euros), but has after much afterthought landed on front running as the best and safest. But of course not without a lot of possibilities for error. And yes, he made a couple of huge errors that he has explained and owned. And personally I still think front running is fine -but no athlete is so much better than the rest that he can allow himself to screw up the execution of his tactics. And I’m sure Jakob always has known that, and now knows it better than any….
Jakob is so annoying and immature. He doesn't stop yapping his mouth, think he's so great, yet can NEVER win when it matters. Kerr may talk, but at least he stands by what he says. Jakob has yet to prove anything when he talks.
The humiliation he suffered at the Olympics should've taught him a lesson, but clearly not

Jakob was also talking about how he is the best in the world and how we should all love and adore him and bow down in front of him and he couldn't even medal in the 1500, and Josh was ahead of him.
