He peaked at the Olympics, went home with a gold medal, and he has also gotten one of the most difficult world records in track.
But we know you are able to maintain your peak of 1000 posts every month so to uou Jakob doesn't kmow a thing about peaking.
So why did he ask for wr pace in a road race that he could only finish walking? Doesn't he understand training and peaking?
Exactly my point. Calls me a trump fan but gets all the facts wrong. He NEVER asked for WR pace. Please read up on any interviews of him before the race, I can provide some if you need it. Before calling someone a trump fan, get the facts right first! If you ignore this, you are even more of a trump fan.
Nothing about his behaviour suggests narcissism. He took a risk by doing the race, he went with the tough pace, blew up, carried on (rather than fake injury and hobble off, which would've also avoided having an actual finishing time), AND he took the loss on the chin, doing interviews and admitting the pace was too hard. If anything it seems like he doesn't care too much what other people think.
You didn't follow the background to the race, where he indicated he was in on the wr attempt. This is a runner whose stated ambition is to take all the distance wr's and be the greatest runner in the history of the sport. He has a vastly inflated view of himself (while diminishing those who beat him). That's quite usual with narcissists.
LOL. He never said he would run a WR or would be anywhere close! It is hilarious how badly you get the facts wrong. You keep citing his ambition to take all distance records but you didn't follow what he said before the race. Keep up Armstrong! You seem like a trump fan here!
It doesn't require a degree to spot an extreme egotist like Ingebrigtsen is.
NPD's don't have an ego. The difference between cocky and arrogant.
Maybe stick to your specialist area - everybody's cheating!
Actually NPD's do have an ego. It comes with an inflated sense of self, of personal grandiosity and entitlement. Trump is a clear example. But Jakob doesn't want to be left behind. He's way ahead of being merely cocky.

He did ask for it. Reported comments have indicated he was up for the request for wr pace. There was a thread on it but you obviously never read it. It was why there were such high expectations of him. He didn't indicate it was just a "training jog" that he simply hoped to finish. He showed his intentions by going out at wr pace - and then he "blew up".

You are living up to your username. Go back and read the earlier threads where it was reported he joined in the request for wr pace and which got his fans so excited. If he wasn't up for it why did he go with that pace for 10k before completely running out of gas? He wasn't going for the record - he was merely stupid? With your username I don't expect you will get that.

You're the one who is merely stupid, seeing as you clearly can't understand this: He was testing himself. He joined spontaneously for fun (and for a good sponsor payday), completely unprepared two days after the DL final, and didn't really have any ambition for an optimal PR. When asked in pre-race interviews about WR, Jakob stated that he was not in the discussion because of his preparations.
He likely just wanted to get a feeling for the HM world record pace, which was planned long before his participation was even indicated. Now that he has a gauge of what it takes to run with the top guys, he probably has a good idea on how we wants to change is training when moving up in distances.
Jakob is so talented that, as a 26:15 guy, he can make 27:17 look as if it almost killed him, and he can also make 7:17 look like a walk in the park. What a talent!

Nothing we can do, he and others like him are just hating, no matter what Jacob or whoever does. I can't understand. Why thay watch athletics? Just go watch chess if you think that you are smart. Watching races without understanding them, just to have inspiration for hater posts.

So Jakob is a narcissist and an egotist because he did the following?: Some time after winning the OG 5000m and breaking the 3000m WR he wondered how he would do in a current HM… He was of course not totally sure -never ran the event, missed 5 months of base training, the race was only 36 hours after the DL final, and his summer training has been towards 1500m peaking…. But on the + side: he had conditions enough to excel in the 3 and 5000m - maybe he with some luck could be dragged along by the very good field in a fast course. If he had the day. And if not he had at least made some excitement for his fans and himself… And he could on a bad day bail out with a NR 10k record…
Well, Jakob blew up.. But he forced himself to finish -maybe as a respect for his competitors and the arrangement..? -Is this a narcissist and egotist..? Really, Arms..?

You are a pathetic liar. Here is an exact quote: "I am looking forward to testing myself in the half marathon for the first time in Copenhagen. Normally, it's a distance that suits my training well, but after a long season on the track, where I've been working towards the 1500 meters, it will be exciting to see if I can even finish, says Jakob Ingebrigtsen to the organizers."
"The organizer says this is a course where it's possible to set a world record?
I'm not part of that discussion (tomorrow, due to my preparations). I'm here to participate and have fun," says Ingebrigtsen, who will have his brother Filip as a pacer in Copenhagen."
