Does Georgia cover the -22 spread against Kentucky tomorrow?
We are forbidden by law to reveal - however, that Putin go down before next summer is allowed. - also that Jakob will only lack the 'thon at the end of 25..
I think there is no WR tomorrow, and in any case Jakob can't run under 58'. I think that, if he wants, can easy better the European Record, running well under 59'.
In my opinion, the current Jakob's level can produce on track the WR of 5000m (very close 12'30") and of 10000m (I think for him running 13'10" + 13' is not a problem, maybe looking to become the first runner under 26' can be a real goal).

But, when we look at HM, this is another story.
Renato, you mean no WR from Jakob or no WR also from Kiplimo?
I would also want to know, from your coaching standpoint, if you think that's absolutely impossible to be in 3:26 1500 shape and sub 57:30 21K shape. And if so, if you can elaborate, would be very much appreciated.

....
I agree Jakob could break the 5000m WR if he targeted in training and attempted the WR. I don't know if he will ever get under 26 minutes as finding success in the 15 and 5 will prevent him from moving up to the 10 in his prime (just like Faith Kipyegon, she could have been broken both barriers in the 5 and 10 a few years ago if she had switched).
But Kiplimo should be capable ? - given likely perfect conditions and pace making from Aregawi.
I think personally Jakob will try to follow as long as possible - that Jakob wins is unlikely, but IF he somehow does,it will probably be by slip streaming Kiplimo in the final 3/4ths.
This would surpass Kiptum's performance and would show possible sub 2 marathon with specific training..
As good as he is, dropping a 57-flat off four months of 1500 training would be epic. Is this race being streamed?
This reminds me of back in the 1980's when more 10,000 guys moved up and more people started running sub 2:10.
I can't remember who (maybe Steve Jones) said that he basically trained for and raced 10K all summer, added in a few long runs, and ran a fast marathon.
My gut tells me He's going to fade at the end because it's been a LONG track season.
Between Germany, Sweden and Norway in a country called Denmark. It's the capital city.
LOL- in his defense, I remember being quite young and seeing something about the Rotterdam Marathon and Salazar and DeCastella. I asked my father where Rotterdam was and he said- over near Albany (I'm from Upstate NY).

400 0:49.74 800 1:45.0 (just based on vibes) 1000 2:13.50 1500 3:26.40 (seems about right for a perfect race, no sickness, competitors that will race the final laps, pacers that don't cut him off) 1-mile 3:42.55 3000 7:14.11 2-mile 7:47.98 5000 12:30.0 (very close 12'30") 10000 26:12.81 (I think for him running 13'10" + 13' is not a problem, maybe looking to become the first runner under 26' can be a real goal) half-mara 58:06.14 (in any case Jakob can't run under 58')
I have a huge respect for Renato but I think that the days of specific training with long reps etc is just gone ( especially with the new shoes that are making the impact much less important). people don’t understand how his training is just so similar to HM and I find it crazy that even in the SC podcast that everyone seemed so shocked by his potential time.

we will see tomorrow but prepare to be shocked.
I will be shocked if he runs sub 58, it sounds like Renato would be as well. So you're saying you think he'll go under that?
I mean, I wouldn't rule it out, but the proof is in the doing. It just seems a little strange that he's skipping any serious attempt to go for the 5000 record this year, which would seem like the next logical step, in order to go straight for the half marathon.
He is NOT going straight for the half marathon. He has focused also this season for the 1500, but will run this half because track season is over and he wants to test himself. Obviously there is many years until he focus 100% for the half!
