That a post like this gets upvoted 31 to 2 says a lot about the cultural difference between Norway and the USA. In Norway, being "spanked around as a kid" is strongly frowned upon. It is seen as a relic of past ignorance and is not acceptable in any way. This is also why it has been illegal under Norwegian law since 1972 (the law was further tightened in 1987).
The legal framework has a strong focus on children's right to protection from violence and abuse. Consequently, it is also prioritized by the prosecution authorities.

What you are doing is expressing scepticism at the charges against Gjert. Have you any idea what it would have taken for 3 of his children to bring those charges against him? Yet you show a clear inclination to disbelieve them, without even having heard any evidence.
Skepticism is appropriate when taking into account the three reasons I listed for being skeptical. Most people here want Gjert thrown in jail without knowing the evidence. I believe in due process and innocence until proven guilty.

No. It has not "revealed that". That is not why the charges were brought. The full evidence relating to the charges has not been publicly presented.

Well, you don’t know the details or how bad it was. Maybe we’re just hearing the tip of the iceberg. There were some allegations that it was against the sister right? Who knows how far that went.

Thank you for identifying the typo. If you read his comment in context you can see he is sceptical of the complaint - charges - against Gjert, without knowing what they actually consist of.
If Norwegian police can spend weeks investigating “family violence” that seemingly left little to no physical evidence, then they needs more African and Middle Eastern “asylum-seekers“ to keep them busy.

"Throwing a towel" is, at best, a mistranslation of the specific allegation, which is that he hit Ingrid with in the face using wet towel, leaving a mark on her face. As kids, we would occasionally use a wet towel to hit/whip each on the back after gym class, and I can assure you it hurts like hell.
It is also not the only allegation in the case, which includes other forms of physical, verbal and psychological abuse.
