It wasn't peaking. She caught food poisoning after the Moses Classic in Atlanta and then strained her hamstring right afterward. Three weeks later was the Trials. Bad timing was the only thing that kept her off of the 800m team for Paris. Remember, she beat Mu convincingly in Gainesville after the Trials.
Again, poor coaching. Food poisoning THREE WEEKS prior? C'mon.
If she was banged up, she shouldn't have attempted the double. The 800 was the easier team to make even before Mu fell.

I agree with this in parts. I definitely think the women should be a little quicker on the world level. I'm not a physiologist but I think there's a something different in running all out for 1:40-1:45 for the men compared to going all out for 1:55-2:00 for the women. Those extra 15 seconds of racing seem to make a huge difference.

It's not merely peaking but developing a reliable strategy. She is all over the place at 800. At indoor United States championships she ran from the front and qualified easily. Then at world indoors Wiley sat well back and didn't come close to advancing out of the first round.
No sickness issue there. After the race she said she liked her position on the final lap. Huh? She already was massive underdog but didn't seem to realize it.
Similarly at outdoor 800 trials she sat too far back. Yeah, that race will collapse once in a while. But it can't be your reliance coming in. It was the reason Raevyn Rogers never had nearly as much upside as fans wanted to pretend exiting Tokyo.
