read that Huberman article. Holy crap. guy is completely off the leash. but so are a bunch of his ilk. and it appears to play with women? like, "oh, he's so empathetic". no, he's spent his considerable intellect on figuring out how to be on a constant bender, because he's not a naturally content person
everything about Huberman is fake. he passes his psuedoscience by surrounding it with some smatterings of real science. ultimately he is a very insecure bro. look at this reaction to journalists questioning some of his "findings." he loses it. i don't understand this creature's popularity.
Not knowing what point in the race they're up to is hilarious. How do you claim to be a huge track and field fan, to have gone to the last 4 olympic trials, to be connected in some way with Hocker but not realise that ~3 min into a 1500m is basically at the end of it.
As someone else mentioned, Huberman said, later in the show, that Hocker was from Kentucky and that Kentucky has had an outsized number of successful Olympians. Hocker is from Indiana...
He speaks as if he's an authority on running, throwing out some insightful thoughts: "He's a shorter guy for a runner......He's short so he doesn't have the stride that the other guys have"
there's no such thing as bad publicity. did noah lyles sound like a goober when roasting the nba? sure. is huberman a casual who doesn't REALLY understand elite track? of course. but you guys are missing the point. extremely high profile mainstream people are paying attention to track & field! this is great! gosh you guys are hard to please lol

Nobody is upset that he's talking about it. It's possible to be pleased that T&F is getting mainstream attention while also pointing out that Huberman is an idiot and what he's saying is total nonsense.
Now imagine just how every other topic discussed on that show is at a similar level of accuracy. Show is for conn artists to peddle their websites, books, comedy specials, or supplements.
Yea you could tell he is a little knowledgeable about it and tries to sound like an expert…. They all try to impress Rogan, funny part was Joe making fun of Coles man bun! And he didn’t seem that interested in the race and the guy was selling as the ultimate motivational video!
PhD’s specialize in a very specific topic. My dad is an MD/PhD neurologist that specializes in Parkinson’s disease. If you ask him a question about concussions, he’ll say he has no idea (even though he knows a lot), and will defer to his colleagues. Now imagine him going on a radio show giving advice on how to properly do a threshold run.

Imagine. Imagine two mostly unfamiliar guys have a random three hour conversation. Imagine a non track aficionado trying to create excitement over a track race he enjoyed without claiming anything else. Imagine him never attempting to prove credentials or say he’s the guy to listen to when it comes to track. Imagine the largest podcast in the entire country had a small piece, about 1 percent of their entire conversation, on one of the highlights of Paris 2024 for any fan of American track and field. Yeah, he got some bits wrong and he didn’t weave a great story like a true bona fide, like you, would have.
Now, imagine your dad saying I don’t know a lot about concussions but I know there are people that do. Now imagine him saying I shouldn’t discuss concussions at all even though I have a fair amount of knowledge and know there are lots of people with very in depth knowledge, despite knowing most of the world knows nothing. Imagine not generally speaking about something unless you’re an absolute expert. Imagine a world in which a person can say something without every person having to take it as gospel. Imagine a world in which people are that stupid!
