Further, the best low-altitude outdoor mark from a pole vaulter not Mondo was Bubka's 6.13 in 1992 (jumping is easier indoors, and while altitude records "count", they do get an A designation, which i think cheapens them a tiny tiny bit).
So, Mondo is really 13 cm better than the #2 in history! 5 inches in the vault is quite a bit more valuable than 3 seconds in the 3,000.
