her injuries seem to be bone based, not muscle based. seems she can crosstraing effectively and the crosstraining can replicate the aerobic effect of running better than the faster-twitch stuff.
i agree that plan of running 3 days per week and cross training your ass off and then pounding around for 26 miles on pavement could mean she gets an injury every time she races even if she is in great aerobic shape.
