Paris is at a higher latitude than the US, so there is less gravity. This means that functionally everyone is lighter, and thus runs faster and jumps higher.
Not many WRs set/some Olympic records. Look at the Olympics the last few cycles -- much better weather in the super shoe era. Makes sense to see some records go down. Better training/better nutrition/better recovery/better shoes/better weather/everyone peaking for their race or event/etc. All of that plus, sure, doping leading up to the games. Have to assume a lot are microdosing. You have to be a bad drug cheat to get caught in competition.
do you remember the gene therapy from 2021 that everyone was encouraged to take? okay, so now remember that mrna was invented well before then and you can put whatever gene you want on that platform. google the transhumanist agenda
It isn't one or two incredible races, like Rudisha in London; there were outstanding feats right across the events - it showed especially in the finishes - and the US was leading this when it had never done so previously in distance running. If this was doping the Olympics were living up to the hype of the Enhanced Games, because that's what it looked like.
US runners. So we're talking Grant Fisher, Cole Hocker, Yared Nuguse (I dont really follow the 800 so cant speak on Hoppel). Have these guys really come out of nowhere? Also, these guys all ran great tactical races, none of them dominated the field from start to finish. They're very good runners that outsmarted the competition. Simple as that.
What so "simple" is that the US dominated events it had previously struggled to medal in.
Shoe technology has kept improving - and will continue to do so. The shoes in 2029 will be better than shoes in 2024, vs 2019.
The shoes haven't. Runners are using what became available several years ago. Doping, however, continues to develop by the week. That is why dopers can't be caught.
They are. But they are up against highly doped records, so beating them is a virtual impossibility at this point. The track wasn't super fast so it didn't aid times in the short sprints. Where doping has made a difference is in the endurance events. Runners routinely surpassing themselves.
There is no other explanation other than doping. In the modern era, the sport has always been dirty to some degree, but we have reached a new level. Athletes can now sustain higher percentages of max intensity while appearing as if they are merely trotting. The high end velocities in races, including the kick, does not seem to be cardiovascularly limited; it simply looks like athletes are unable to go any faster biomechanically. I can’t tell you what the cocktail contains, but it sure looks like EPO is a primary component.
Do you think all of the NCAA athletes are doping too?! How about HS level running in the U.S.? Look at how fast the level of running has increased in the NCAA. Sure, there's some PED use out there, but there's a LOT more to these faster times than that. That's just the easy way to explain it away, along with claiming it's the shoes.
Doping is in the NCAA. It is in schools and seniors.
The naivety of this place never fails to surprise. Athletics is known as a worse doping offender than cycling, as shown by its doping violations. When you are watching top track and field athletes you are watching the equivalent of the TDF peloton, in which every rider was said to be doped (and this from riders). You can trust track to be clean as much as you can trust the TDF.

It's not so much naivety as gullible zealotry wanting for evidence of the existence of powerful magical potions as if Asterix and Obelix are real.
A question more so for those who think that the performances over last week were clean, why are we seeing such a drastic improvement in performances and times?
That's the problem. There isn't a credible clean explanation. (YES CORRECT DARLING!!!!!)
The sprint times in the shorter events showed the track wasn't superfast but much the same as usual. (YES YES YES DARLING!!!!)
There has been no sudden change in shoe technology before the Games. (Correct darling!!!)
Nor has there been a new and radical development in training methods and especially in the distance events.(Darling, there will never be any new or radical development in training methods. Training is hogwash, we all saw Jim Ryun running 3:32 already in 1960s but could we say his training sucks? NO!!!!! He trained just as well as Cole Hocker and Hicham El Guerrouj, and with the advantage that there was very little anthropogenic RFs in the 60s. The food was also cleaner and more organic, unpolluted by pesticides and all. Air was also purer and fresher.)
But what we saw were another level of performances in the md and distance events, and notably from runners who had previously not shown the level they achieved at Paris. Tirelessness is the catch word for these Games.
We also saw athletes from a group or nation surpassing themselves - like the US (Hocker, Nuguse, Kessler, Bryce, Rooks) - and others - like the Kenyans, who have been absolutely reined in by the AIU - doing far less well. All of that speaks of doping - and when doping is constrained.
These Games are a modern watershed. They show that the real winner has been doping. Antidoping hasn't simply fallen behind; it has lost the war. (YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!)
Wise words WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's why I love you darling Armstrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I so totally signed up for this (you) when I joined LRC last year as an RF Expert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I signed up not only to contribute my untouchable RF Expertise but to see, hear and feel the likes of Armstrong and Coevett who make me so very happy!!!!!!!!!

Obviously, dear rekrunner, knowing your pro-doping tendencies and how offended you are whenever I put to you your pro-doping nuances, I'm not surprised you are looking for powerful and magical drugs as if Asterix and Obelix are real lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least my darling Armstrong is truthful that the sport is as dirty as TDF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I trust Armstrong's expertise as it resonates with my RF one. I just don't trust you dear rekrunner and I'm so sorry about that!!!!!

I accept that doping will always be part of sport. Heck, I had to be in the first 1% of people that doubted Lance Armstrong (as a cyclist, I knew his performances against a doped field were impossible). However, I don't view many of the Paris Olympic performances as suspect, especially when compared to past results.
For the women, only the Georgia Bell and Sifan are hard to believe.
For the men, only Sedjati.
After that, I'd say the closest thing to questionable would be Cole Hocker. Not because of the time, but because his first attempt at accelerating was blunted, and he could go again.
I guess the times were fast, but 3:27 and 26:45 are times that being run 20 years ago.
What improvement.? A fair number of olympic records set but how many world records?
Armstrong was referring not only to Olympic records but individual performances relative to the distance powerhouses Kenya and Ethiopia. It is these 2 East African nations with much less anthropogenic RF such as 5G and 4G who should be beating the Americans and not the severely irradiated and RF exposed Americans stealing medals in the 5k, 1.5k, 3k and 10k for the men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But instead of East African clean athletes dominating, it's American dirty sh*t athletes stealing and robbing you feeling me sir???????
Example: Hocker's gold in the 1500m. This one particularly made me threw up on my blouse real bad as I nearly won the bet that Josh KERR my man would win it and I was so close to being right on LRC and gaining eternal respect of everyone on here!!!!!!!!
Example: Rooks silver in the 3000m steeplechase. This is impossible, I don't even know who the heck is this guy you feeling me sir???? A name I never heard of and I thought he came straight from the dumpster?????? Even steeplechase legend Evan Jager followed a certain trajectory to achieve his Rio silver and London bronze, he was known contender and potential challenger for the medals but Rooks???????????? He came out of nowhere and was nowhere as established as a legitimate medal threat as Evans Jager. These are the susceptible space-time that stands out as doping from Rooks. At this level, there can be NO SURPRISES IN THE RESULTS. At least not this degree of surprise shown by Rooks.
Example: Nuguse, Kessler, Bryce.................need I say more???

YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy that you said that sir!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is hope on LRC after all and you just made my day sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I worked so hard to show the world that at least Cole Hocker, if not also Nuguse and Kessler, is doping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'm rewarded by your agreement!!!!!!!!
Yes, that was one of the things that stood out in my mind about Hocker as well.
Decelerating and re-accelerating in the last 100m????????? Even the greats like Morceli and El G never did that I believe!!!!!!!! I can't think of any race in which these 2 had to slow down and go fast again in the final 100m, and these 2 are in all likelihood the cleanest Muslim athletes I ever knew you feeling me sir????
Btw, I also worked very hard to show the world that Eliud Kipchoge is a filthy doper!!!!!! I just hope to be recognized and rewarded by Robert and the entire LRC for my ingenuous reason and persuasion in space-time.
