Yeah at this stage with the nerves it's better to play safe and make sure you stay in the competition. Terrible to see this...
Yeah, obviously hindsight's 20/20 but I get why someone with medal hopes didn't want to put a bunch of extra jumps in her legs. Bottom line is she knows she should've cleared that and she didn't, that's why she was so stunned.
I hope a reporter asks her whose decision it was to start at 1.71, from how awkward that interaction was between Chari and her coach I got the feeling they weren't on the same page there
Yeah that didn't look good. I suspect Chari made the decision and coach backed her up but now it's all questionable. She should have made that height regardless.
Dawn Harper-Nelson is killing it on the Peacock commentary this morning. Her analysis is on point, her enthusiasm is palpable, and “so many storylines at the starting line” is gold.
Great stuff from Bill Spaulding and Darrell Hill as well, especially in the heptathlon where they’ve focused on the whole field, but wanted to specifically call out Harper-Nelson as it took her a few sessions to get going, but she really has.
I've been enjoying the eurosport feed since day 1. Good to hear peacock has been bearable.
As I've always said, (with much controversy,) biracial (white/black) women make the best heptathletes with a perfect mix of strength and speed and athleticism. It's not racist, it's just genetics.
I think this olympics from Peter Bol proves he was on the juice during his 2020-2021 campaign. Guy has completely lost it.
Hopefully now these boards will stop kissing Rinaldi’s butt he is a bang average coach.
If your athlete is juicing without your knowledge, and your athlete is Sudanese and you have no prior experience of coaching someone from East Africa, then it might be difficult to know that they’re on the juice.
That is, you might confuse your assumption of what “natural” East African talent should look like for the effects of juicing.
