Battocletti also had to feel very comfortable when Grovdal went to the lead tonight and she settled behind her. That made it just like European Championships a couple of months ago.

I was surprised when Battocletti allowed herself to get shuffled back when all the East Africans got aggressive. Very soon she'll realize she's good enough and strong enough to stay put.

Also, everyone seems to be forgetting that Battocletti announced last offseason that she would be switching to the 1500 for 2024. That didn't last long. She quietly went back. But it was indication that she was becoming increasingly confident in her kick and overall speed.

I love Batocletti.. reminds me of my own daughter. She has been great since a teenager, but best of all, is a ferocious, seasoned racer. She wins. Period. Has won at every level. People don't realize she was 7th in Tokyo 5000m and now 4th in Paris is great progression. Super smooth, disciplined. Love it.
