I have watched both versions.
The live stream on Peacock had Rob Walker and John Anderson. There were no commercials during the race. They did have lap splits and 1000m splits throughout the race.
The TV version (which is also the replay on Peacock) had Leigh Diffey and Kara Goucher. There was a commercial break from 6:00-8:00 during the race. Splits were also shown on this broadcast.
2 things: 1-You're right. It was awesome not listening to Diffy and Goucher. 2-NBC dropped the diamond league, so I don't know that you will see much T&F after this year on Peacock. I can't wait to drop them after that decision.
in australia, we have Stan (part of 9 network but pay for view) with no ads and many channels for track and field. you can focus on one event, or watch main coverage.
I agree...even as a field event guy myself, it was a great race to watch the whole thing. Between 7600m and 8400m, the field took a collective break in the pacing to gather one last chance to "rest" before the real fun began with that last 1600. What a finish, and Fisher showed himself to be a true master tactician.
Definitely glad I have Peacock.
The only issue is I keep getting up at 4:00 AM to watch various events.
