you guys know that for a male it should be much easier to break 60 that 400m than 60min for 10miles. i mean, i can pick guys out of gym class that can run a sub 60sec quarter, but if their life depended on it couldn't run a 60min 10miler.

that there are proably hundreds of thousands of guys who can break 60 for four but could not break 60 for 10.
You letsrunners don't get it twisted, breaking 60 sec 400 is childsplay. If you can't do that than you are running too much mileage and not focusing on your power enough. And I'm not talking to the "I ran 61 is practice so thats my PR" kinda dudes, we all know you can go 53-54 in a race, I'm talking to the I ran a 400m all-out and coulnd't break 60 dudes.
