They still don’t know how to treat it. They make a ton of $$ off of cancer treatments that are expensive and do nothing. People need to detox and eat better foods. Chemo and radiation just kill your immune system

Also every doctor I see walking around my workplace in CA is fat. Most doctors can’t take care of their own body. Lose weight you fatties and maybe teach patients how to eat right.

I currently have no primary care doctor as mine retired several years ago. Everytime I decide to get a physical I call around and no one is accepting new patients.

I would be fine with an AI-based doctor that could read my test results, listen to whatever input I have to give, and then tell me if I need to see a specialist for something. The only problem is someone still has to stick their finger up my ass, who's gonna do that?

IIRC most of the time, I never saw much of the doctor anyway. It was a physician's assistant and he would swoop in for five minutes and regurgitate whatever she said.

I agree with the bulk of your post, but I would quibble with the "capitalism pure and simple" comment. The basis of capitalism is that there is a good or service provided, and a consumer of that good or service. The provider determines what they think the good/service is worth, and the consumer decides whether the cost of the offered good/service is reasonable. The transaction doesn't occur until both parties agree that the transaction is beneficial to each of them.

Unfortunately, in U.S. healthcare the determination of the cost of a service is completely removed from both the consumer and provider, which is the antithesis of capitalism.

I get your basic point and perception that a lot of information is available to us about lots of medical conditions and treatments. But there are more variables involved than are dreamt of in your philosophy, Horatio! Too many people research and diagnose their own medical issues(which disease is called "Googleitis"). A very risky business: we dont know what we dont know: chemical combinations, side effects, history, timing, and much more--more than I know. The one that diagnoses and treats himself has a fool for a doctor.

People treat doctors like they are a service industry that you pay to receive interesting drugs advertised on TV. If the doctor tries to be sensible, they get blasted in reviews and the people go elsewhere.

I try to be informed about any tests I'm given, and have a discussion with the doctor, but defer to their expertise. I also follow my treatments and therapies and take my health seriously. If I need to adjust my lifestyle, then I will. I won't try to overpower it with increased doses of medication.

I do all my repairs myself after I watched a couple of youtube videos.

When I need an open heart surgery I will do the same. What possible could go wrong?

Well said, OP. I woke up yesterday morning with excruciating stomach pain. After doing my own research, I was able to ascertain that I was suffering from appendicitis. I purchased a hacksaw and knife set from home depot and got to work in front of the mirror. I'm not sure what happened, but I woke up in a land of sunshine and rainbows. I'm posting this from the local library in heaven, with virgins feeding me grapes and rubbing my feet. My life is awesome now. Never would have been possible if I'd consulted so-called "medical experts."

Absolute nonsense. I have never heard of any doctor getting a "kickback" for prescribing narcotics. Now, if you were to say that the push for pain being "the 5th vital sign," and that patients were entitled to pain-free surgery, etc., as was the case in the early 2000's, you may have a point. The opioid crisis was very much from that type of attitude, and the repeated assurance of safety of narcotics from the drug manufacturers.

PS in todays era doctors accept the job for what it is. We do our job just like you and go the hell home. No need to play hero to the majority of a population that does not respect you.

yea, I asked for blood work for my teen son who was experiencing extreme fatigue. The dr said, well let's go to bed earlier and if you still feel crummy in a couple weeks we will consider a blood work. Oh, so I have to come back again, pay another co-pay, take him out of school and call off work. I pay almost 12k a year on insurance for this clown to tell me this crap.
