Anybody think Georgia Bell should switch to the 800m? 1.56 something is pretty impressive and the 1500m is even more stacked. She could have an outside chance of medalling with that time - Reekie sometimes ties up in big races (though she was very impressive with that time yesterday in the 1.55s). I’m doubting you can switch events at this stage so I’m really just thinking out loud.
Mary Moraa may not even medal at this rate. Reekie is now faster than her in terms of PB/SB. Lots of improvement in many athletes in the 800m this year. She hasn’t looked too sharp.
if Mary were given the same condition, she would have run 1:55 minimum.
Moraa was given a 1:55 pace by Hodgkinson earlier this season and got left behind.

Jarmila KRATOCHVÍLOVÁ (obvious doper), Nadezhda OLIZARENKO (another doper), Pamela JELIMO (not sure), Caster SEMENYA (intersex, most likely clean), Ana Fidelia QUIROT (50/50), Keely HODGKINSON (clean)....so she could be top three all time??
No way are any of them clean,except semenya,who is intersex. If or when keely breaks kratochvilova's world record people on here will still insist she's "clean".

What do you mean the ‘same condition’? She’s had plenty of opportunities though she hasn’t raced much this year for some reason. Eugene was perfect conditions no? She’s also raced a DL. Still can’t get get close to 1.55 though…

Not sure why this is being upvoted. Kaylin Whitney went out in 55.22 at Pre Moraa ended up soloing the race/taking the wind until Keely went past her and smoked her. It was a shellacking but not at all like Reekie getting to draft on Keely the entire race. Respect to Jemma running the time, but Moraa is 7-0 vs her since 2022. It’s impossible to know what Moraa would’ve run in London because traditionally she’s been in front but against this version of Keely she might let her do the work OR go out much slower.

I think Quirot could have been clean, i said 50/50 initially. I still think Mu can get the WR, "IF" she gets her head cleared, whatever is bothering her, she has the talent to do it but needs a new training environment and a new coach for sure.

IMO Quirot and Jelimo shouldn't even be brought up in the same breath as Kratochvilova and Olizarenko. Sure, the former two ran fast -- but I don't know of any compelling evidence linking either of them to PED usage.
Although Kratochvilova and Olizarenko were never directly implicated by name, both were from nations with veritable mountains of evidence documenting their state-sponsored doping programs during the '80s. It's a goddamn travesty that the WA/IAAF still sees their times as legitimate. Should've been tossed decades ago along with the results from Junren's athletes in the '90s.

it’s a shame because Mu is a generational talent wasted by someone who doesn’t really enjoy the sport, and is poorly coached. In an alternate reality Mu would be the GOAT 800m runner. But so far she is flaming out.
