April 2023 to June 2023 jamaica conducted 125 out of comp blood and urine tests.
I would say any illegal use, perhaps a new strategy of cheating, is not detectable if we assume some athletes are on the gear.

I don’t see any of jamaicas best sprinters on that list. No SAFP, no Elaine, no Sherika no Kishane and no Oblique. JADCO is a joke. They have had at least seven athletes in jamaica that have been practically running with syringes in their thighs and they haven’t caught a single one. I guarantee it’s common knowledge in Jamaican track that Francis is a dirty coach.
You don't need to be in Jamaica to believe that, how many athletes has Francis coached that have been busted over the years? He was coaching Asafa Powell and Sherone Simpson when they tested positive. Asafa Powell never got anywhere near his PRs after that.
It will be really interesting to see if Thompson can maintain his form all the way to the Olympic finals. We've seen year after year of Omanyala running great times in Kenya earlier in the season but by the time he gets to the Olympics or WC he barely makes the finals if he even makes them. If Thompson finishes out of the medals at the Olympics it's going to look damn suspicious at this point. It's going to be very interesting to see what this guy can run a month from now.

"Asafa Powell never got anywhere near his PRs after that". Not true at all, Powell ran 9.87 in 2014, 9.81 in 2015, and 9.92 in 2016. The positive test happened in 2013. He also ran his 60m PR of 6.44 in 2016 and 2nd at world indoors). Maybe you should actually watch some track before making weird statements.
Omanyala also races WAY more than Thompson throughout the year, which could be one reason for that. Since we haven't seen Thompson compete at a major champs, aside from him running 9.82, 9.84, and 9.77 in the three rounds of the Jamaican trials, it's hard to make this comparison. But when was the last time someone ran under 9.85 in 3 straight rounds of a 100?! He's also only raced 5 times this year, 3 of which were at the trials. He's only going up.
I love that thompson has come along running fast times. Makes the olynpics that more exciting.
I think a person can run 9.77 without PEDs, but obviously would be exceptionally rare. I also think a person can look like thompson without PEDs, a lot less rare than 9.77, but still very rare. I think the problem is achieving BOTH. I think possible, just forces some questions obviously.

Powell had the world record at 9.74, his PR is 9.72 after Bolt took the WR. I guess 9.87, 9.81 and 9.92 are close to his PR, depending on how you define "close". Before his positive test Powell had 8 races under 9.80 seconds and 0 after. Before Bolt came along Powell seemed on his way to becoming the first man under 9.70, after his positive he was lucky to break 9.90 most years, but yeah I guess he was still close to his previous form.
Powell is a perfect example to make my point, dude was notorious for running relatively poorly at the Olympics and WC. The guy broke the world record in the 100m multiple times and somehow has no individual Olympic medals and only ever mustered a couple of bronzes in the WC. Look no further than 2008 where Powell finished 5th at the Olympics in 9.95 (9.91 in the semifinals), he couldn't even break 9.9 being towed to the finish line by Usain Bolt and then somehow pops a 9.72 a month later the same year? That's a seriously bad training plan by Francis. I would not bet money on Thompson finishing in the medals at the Olympics this year. My prediction is Thompson gets no where near any of his times in Jamaica in any of the rounds at the Olympics. Let's come back to this thread after the Olympic finals, I'll gladly eat my words.

Asafa was suspended in 2013... he first ran 9.7 in 2005. Are you saying it would be *less* suspicious to keep running 9.7 after having run it in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2011? Mind you he was also 31 in 2013.
Gatlin is one that kept running 9.7 post-suspension, and I'm sure no-one thought he was clean suddenly.

I doubt this will happen. I don't see what drugs he could be taking that upon his withdrawal, he will become that much worse. He can cycle off from now and still be in 9.8 shape in a month, his running is so effortless.
If your prediction did come true I wouldn't mind though. I'm rooting for Tebogo to medal.
At least our sprinters have to be sneaky with the peds, use baby amounts, while having to worry about getting caught up in something. The Jamaicans are allowed to do whatever the hell they want. Crazy.
I disagree with this. Baby amounts? Maybe not the maximum, but our guys look pretty juiced to me. I think Coleman is the clean now.

Stimulants for one. Stimulant use seems to be popular with Jamaican sprinters, that’s what Asafa Powell, Sherone Simpson and Yohan Blake tested positive for. Say taking a stimulant is worth about .1 seconds in the 100m, mostly for a better reaction time plus quicker first couple of steps out of the blocks. That would be the difference between Thompson running a 9.77 and a 9.87, the former would probably win gold, the later might only be good enough for the bronze. Taking a stimulant before a race only makes sense if you are certain you aren’t going to be tested, certainly not the case in the Olympic finals.
People trying to turn this into a US versus Jamaica thing, don’t bother, we know the US sprinters are more than likely doing it too. Will there be a clean sprinter in the Olympic finals this year? Who knows…

We know that testing is way more sensitive now and with the Olympics in France we should expect athletes will be well tested. Will it be a clean Olympic 100m final? Maybe cleaner. It seems like a reasonable bet that the times will be a little slower at the Olympics, I will be pretty surprised if we see a sub 9.8 from anyone; not Kerley, Omanyala, Thompson, Lyles, Jacobs. I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if the winning time is closer to 9.9 after all these guys have to take a little hiatus from their early season regimens.

If he took stimulants for a quicker start it hasn't worked so far. His start is best described as ordinary.
