Disagree it is the arc trainer. She has always looked that way, it is just how she runs. Plus all her workouts are off the trainer.
Probably. We also look at one thing someone did differently and attribute success to that. ESP is tough because of all those cows right? Kessler is great cause of that core rock climbing strength. And so on down the list.
Well Valby’s training is mostly Arc training, not running. ESP’s training is mostly running, not cows. Kessler’s training is mostly running, not rock climbing. I’d say you should attribute their performance to what they mostly do in training.
Parker is a great talent and her will PR will get faster. But I my biggest concern is her front running. We haven't seen her run in a pack once. Every time she has tried to go out slower and run with the pack, she only lasts about 1 minute before she is at the front leading. She doesn't have the strength, ability, or speed yet to run away from professionals front running (case and point the 5k Trials Finals). If she can't learn how to run in a pack, she is never going to be great and run super fast times.
ESP is going to the make the 1500 team and Parker will be on the team for the 5k. It will be very interesting to see how she runs in her heat of the 5k at the games. If she goes to the front and does what she did at the trails, she will be lucky to finish top 10 in her heat. But other side will she be able to run in the pack mentally (something she has never been able to do or had to do in college) and give herself a chance to make the finals, and run a PR time that everyone thinks she is capable of?
Her ability to maintain her cadence in a metronomic fashion works for her at a collegiate and university level
Metronome:
3:00.23
2:58.66
2:58.68
2:58.58
2:55.31 (while the top three ran about 2:44 to 2:48)
Yes, she'll have to be able to accelerate more at the end, but also yes, she was an absolute metronome in trying to cut the field down to three to make the team. She needed to shed one more runner and couldn't do it, but big props to her for trying.
She probably would make a great marathoner if she can handle the higher mileage training. She looks way more efficient than the 3 gals ahead of her but not enough power to drag race.

Why? Why wouldn’t you attribute it mainly to genetics? Parker ran looking like this before arc training and runs that way now.
Instead we get stupid stuff like she can’t kick because of Arc training. How many people do you know that can run 4600m at 5k PR pace and then kick hard? Nobody can. Or their 5k or would be 8s faster. If Valbly goes run 15:10 pace and can’t close we can talk about a lack of kick…
as I said, simple people will try and attribute it to the one thing that is different. Then a zillion people copy it and don’t get the same result. You can arc train for a zillion hours. Your form will not look like Valbys.

You don't know how she ran before Arc Training. And, no she can't kick.
You have no idea what you're talking about. It's not one little thing she does, it's basically all she does.
There's a reason pro cyclists can't step off the bike and be instantly world class runners. They develop different muscles. For the same reason pro runners can't jump on a bike and instantly compete in the Tour.
There is a training effect that comes with using the Arc Trainer, that will be different than she gets with running. Just facts.
Gidey can close a 10k in sub 4:00 for the last 1500… not even in the same wheelhouse
The way Gidey runs appears similar but at a much higher level. So show me the data that said she closed 10k with a sub-4 for the last 1500. That is world class even for that distance. Probably equivalent to a man running 3:35-40 in a 10k race.
Gidey's career is filled with ridiculous splits, like running successive 14:44-45 5ks in a half-marathon.

As I said above, and is rather obvious, if you're going to be successful on the biggest of stages, you almost always need to be very fast AND with a good kick.
But on the vast majority of national stages, including the U.S., it IS possible to run away from everyone. Easy to imagine Valby in a future national championship race doing exactly that, IF she can run low 14's.
I’m not sure we’re reading the same thread. Nobody said she wasn’t successful. I think you’re missing the point by focusing on her age. Nobody cares about her age, she doesn’t get bonus points for being young. Getting older doesn’t magically produce a kick. She has real form issues that she will need to correct if she wants to be competitive at the next level. I’m sure she wants to be competitive at the next level. It’s just true, sorry it hurts your feelings.
There are a lot dumb things in your post that I won't waste my time with, so I'll just settle for highlighting one thing that you certainly don't know, above.

14:40 off ONLY arc training! Who knew? Wow!! Wait until she starts RUNNING !!!

She doesn't have for issues?
I get it you're a diehard fan. You take valid criticisms of her personally. You're weirdly invested. You're probably one of the morons begging ESP to scratch.
But, make no mistake, she has form issues. It's obvious.

Valby's performance in the 5K highlights the craziness of the the 16 year old in the 400. GREAT college runner goes to the Trials and 3 older, more trained, more experienced professionals show her to be a step behind. No shame in that, of course. She'll very possibly by "Them-Plus" in a few years.
So......how the F*** is a 16 year running with the big boys in the final of the 400??? Truly incredible.

Your first post(s) were dumb enough, without now getting crazy about what you know of my relative fandom regarding anyone. You're f***** in the head, buddy.
Exactly. I feel bad that I missed her in my earlier list of all those world class runners - including a few legends - with completely horrendous, obviously-never-going-to-work form.

Grab a lunch bag and breath slowly in and out. Not one person on this thread said Valby wasn't a good runner. In fact most have said her performance was impressive.
The only thing they have said is that she has form issues and she doesn't have a kick. And, that she will need to fix those things if she wants to be competitive at the next level. All true.
Are you 12? Because your reaction to this discussion isn't normal.

This seems like a perfectly normal measured response.
You clearly aren't here for an actual discussion. Have a great day.
