The more i think about it, the more this possibility rises. I posted this in my write up yesterday after the race, and I keep flashing back to Mu's reactions more than anything involving the race really. Falls in 800s happen, that's not the big deal. The waste of teh greatest natural 800m talent the USA has ever seen? that's a big deal. And all on Kersee and his abusive relationships that he asks/talks his athletes into.
I don't know her personally, but sometimes people do things because they are good at it but don't love it. I think she may fall into that. She seems to like the other parts of her stardom more. He met the pinnacle of the sport and seemed satisfied. Changes coaches so she didn't have to race as much and could do other things, and paid the price of being rusty and what not. She is an adult, and she made the choices of not racing and focusing on other things. Has to accept it. But, knowing nothing from the inside, sure looks like she wants to do other things more. Looks like she has that chance to move on and do it. Or maybe this reignites her passion. I would tend to believe she is moving on. Go model, go be an influencer, whatever. Spend time doing what you want to do. Life is too short.
She doesn't have the right coach but neither does she have the right motivation.
We don’t know her motivation and it’s not fair to say she’s not motivated. Bobby Kersee and a team of sprinters is definitely a odd choice for a 800m runner
Doesn't race all year, goes to trials not race ready, falls...
Race more or this will happen. Does she need to find a new coach? A medal opportunity in the women's 800 for Team USA is no more.
She should run for Brosnan’s new group. Word is speaking fast about this. It would be an epic addition.
I was at the Olympic Trials last week during session one and this is true from what I’m hearing. Im not saying Athing is leaving Kersee. I’m saying sounds like this new group is happening this coming fall. However it would definitely be epic to see Brosnan coach Mu.
