What religion you follow is about as important as what TV shows you follow. I grew up Catholic, lived with Hindus in India and Buddhists in Japan. It doesn't matter what religion you follow. It just matters if you are a good person or not - unless you want to use your religion to hurt people or start wars or impose your vaues on others That's evil. Religion has nothing to do with "goodness." Sydney is a great athlete, seems to be a good person. Haters want to hate. Celebrate excellence. Go, Sydney, go.

Um...that's humanistic relativism and logically inconsistent. Your philosophical statement self-contradicts and thus negates itself. What "religion" you follow has more lasting impacts than what television shows you watched. People hate Judeo-Christianity for two reasons: 1-It's founder (Yeshua) claimed to be the Eternal God, supreme above all "gods" and created/existent things and 2-He claimed to be the only way to this God and to everlasting life, not whether you're a "good" person or not. Besides, if you think being good is where it's at, then we must ask you where you're getting your definition of "good" from...when did you become God and decide what that is?
I wish she were out there more, and she has raced some this spring for sure but by-and-large she has been kind of invisible and I think that is a disservice to the sport. Also, I can live with a quiet, rarely seen superstar. Better that than nothing.
The Kersee association rubs me wrong but if he gets the job done, ok. But he better get it done or critics will be on him (them).
SRR prerace: "[With a 22.07,] 48.70 is within her grasp."
In a lot of interviews that I've read, JKratochvilova has said that they had the benefit of racing infrequently back then compared to now, and that's what enabled* them to really bring it on race day.
*Yeah we know. No need to state the obvious. Just providing probable context to why SML rarely races.
I say Kersee takes already elite FEMALE athletes and juices them to an untouchable level. If he's so great of a technological coach why has Prandini regressed under him? And he never takes on men, maybe because women respond more to PED's because they lack the biological talent and benefit at a greater increase than a man would?
How did Brisco Hooks take years off from the sport and then suddenly became a great sprinter after taking up with Joyner and Bob Kersee?

Thats the excuse they might use, but the underlying dislike is her outward Christianity.
Go back and read alot of the comments posted on here about her.
No, it's her shyness. It gets misinterpreted as aloofness.
Sydney often acts cold in public because she is irritated by being in the spotlight. She is actually very friendly and down to earth away from the track.
So glad to see Syd with another great performance.
So nice to see the haters silenced again.
The main reason some wackos on here don't like her is because she’s a strong Christian and she often gives thanks to God.
When she does that it just drives them nuts!!
You're just another idiot LR troll, but the issues are worth discussing anyway.
Yes, rational people are annoyed by public figures who constantly spout proselytizing crap about god and Jesus, and stupidly pretend that 'he' has anything to do with their athletic performance, or which shoe they put on first, or any other utter triviality (in the 'big picture').
Devout Christians (or Muslims, or Jews, or Hindus, or whatever) aren't too bad if they're smart enough to keep it to themselves (Dathan R seems like a good example); when they insist on ramming it down your throat every 20 seconds, yes, it's incredibly annoying, and also really destructive.
It's entirely reasonable that might turn somebody off a little from rooting for a particular athlete. (Jim Ryun, for instance, is obviously an absolute giant of the sport, but listening to him interviewed is painful, cuz you know a big pile of Jesus crap is coming any second.)
Sydney's great, seems like a perfectly nice gal, is gorgeous, is clearly incredibly disciplined, and is an absolutely incredible talent. Obviously any real fan of the sport is gonna want to watch her compete, and be thrilled to see what she can do.
But the Jesus stuff is obnoxious, and she's a horrible interview --who clearly studied at the Derek Jeter Institute of how to never say anything but the stupidest, most utterly meaningless cliches, always with a totally flat demeanor that makes it seem like you have no actual human emotions.
And the Bobby Kersee svengali-sh*t is definitely a turn-off too --especially with his history of sleazy associations.
And, yeah, she doesn't race nearly enough --though obviously this season's been better so far. It'll be interesting to see if she completely disappears after the Olympics again.
As far as her actual performances --which is the interesting stuff to talk about-- today was amazing. Yes, she is gonna be even better this year.
48.7 on a windy day, this early, when her peak is probably still 6 weeks away, tells us she really does have a shot to break 48.
And god only knows about the hurdles. Sub-50 probably is plausible as well.
It's a privilege to watch her run. It would just be even better if she was a little more genuine and relatable, and was smart enough to keep the Jesus crap to herself.

How come Allyson Felix did not make much headway after running a spectacular 22.11 as a teenager? What was Kersee giving her, placebos?
SML’s public personality is less interesting than an old tire, but man is she fast. That was an absolutely BOSS 400, imo much better-looking than SRR’s back in the day.
I agree with another poster who said she forego the hurdles for the 400m. She already has the huge WR and olympic gold in the hurdles. Go for the 400, and test yourself.
With this kind of race, imo she wins unless SMU does something miraculous. Trials would be fascinating, the OG even more so. I love Bol, but with this flat speed and more importantly the WAY she ran it, SML is on another level in the hurdles.
Tough choice. I say she strike while the iron is hot, and take her shot in the 4.
First she has to put the 400h record out of reach. It's her "first love". Then she'll go after that drug tainted flat 400. I'm just looking forward to seeing what kind of crazy times she can run this year.

You're a Kersee Booty Scratcher who thinks everyone is clean. Naive. Why did FloJo quit the sport at the top of her game right before mandatory, random drug testing was implemented?
why isnt she doing the open 4 again? She literally destroyed the 400H, why not switch to open 4 to make her mark on history. Before there was a question of how good she would be but that/s not in question anymore.
