Couldn't be me, I'm pounding soad on the regular due to my NIL deal from a soad company. If I were D2 or below I wouldn't have had a shot at this sick deal.
And with that statement you just proved you know nothing about the inner workings of college athletics, run along
100% agree with hereforthedrama - 'someone... and Peter Gibbons' are either the same person seeking to cause drama with false generalizations, or both have no meaningful experience whatsoever in higher education or college athletics or they would know what they are typing is not factually based in the norms. Moving on....

See ya!
All I'm saying is Cohen became an Olympic hopeful after switching to D1. The proof is in the pudding. So many butthurt small division guys taking their anger out on me here but facts and facts.

LOL - Reading comprehension, you should try it!

It appears he obtained really good coaching at Tampa and then continued to receive good coaching at VA. He got faster going D1 and if he was a D2 champ literally nobody would care anyway. He's not running 1:44 in Tampa. Lol. Cry about it.
Disrespectfully, OP, D2 champ Wes Ferguson was busy walking down a bunch of pros the last 100m in NYC today. He'll do the same to Cohen at some point. Moran.

and Wes Ferguson is an Olympic hopefull and he's still d2. Would he be an medal contender if he went d1 this year?
It's not being "butthurt", but pointing out that ONE case does not 100% prove your point. Case in fact: Ryan Wilson ran 1:45/3:40 as a D3 runner at MIT in 2023, this year at Duke he ran 1:49/3:44. why didn't the D1 magic rub off on him?

Three pages in and all we have is vague, smug gibberish about "they don't know what I know" and "you know nothing about the inner workings of college athletics!".
The problem here is nobody has said exactly what they know. Nobody has served up anything concrete on what exactly those "inner workings of college athletics are". I've yet to see anything in these three pages to convince me that it's all right to stay in D2 or even go D2 in the first place.
But once we establish that we can call Oussama El Bouchayby and tell him it was a mistake to have left D2 Angelo State.

Great. One guy.
Are there any D2 1500m runners, steeplechasers, or 5,000 and 10,000 guys that have a legitimate shot at making the Olympic team?

Who is Wes Ferguson? Lol
Notice how most of these examples are 800 runners, because D1 coaches don't spend money on an athlete that only scores in one event. These guys go D2 because they follow the money and are never heard from again (until they transfer to D1)

The fact that you actually have to ask for evidence points to the fact that you are clueless.
And even if truth were based on one off examples (which they are not; there is a reason the word trend exists), how could a person justify results such as Gracie Hyde (D1 transfer FROM Arkansas where she ran well in helping them win some National Titles to D2 Adams State where she ran even better)?
From the article (link below)
Hyde was running much faster than she ever had. Outdoors, the improvement continued. She lowered her 1500m time from 4:19.20 at Arkansas to 4:08.95. And her steeplechase time dropped from 9:57.88 to 9:28.17. At the recent NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships, she added national titles in the steeplechase and the 1500.
And while Adams State doesn’t have the resources that the University of Arkansas did—few schools do—Hyde says those things aren’t necessary to run fast. “For me, personally, happiness and health have been more important than any other resources that could be provided,” she said.

Typical cop-out answer--when asked to clarify, one comes up with this non-answer.
No, I was asking for evidence to see if you are clueless. So what are these "inner workings of collegiate athletics" that you speak of and claim to know of? One can come up with any ole blah-blah-blah here, but can you extrapolate on it? So far . . . no.
Great. One example of going from D1 to D2. I would say Gracie Hyde's example is rare.
Denisha Cartwright ran a windy 12.37 100 m hurdles, which is the #2 hurdle time in the WORLD in 2024, all conditions. It was #1 in the world at the time of her race. She’s D2, Minnesota State. Pretty sure Cartwright will be making the Olympic team for the Bahamas.

I'm not reading all these testimonials. The fact that people are posting anecdotal stories to prove their point is laughable. Unless you guys can show a large sample size of data with D2 being better than D1 I'm not seriously considering your nonsense. Over 50.athletes went as fast in D1 over 1500 as the top 1500 runner in D2 lol don't tell me it's the same.
