That workout he did last year with the two 1:49 800’s at the end? pretty sure he hasn’t done that yet this year. 12x400m @ T and still ran 3:45. I’d say there’s a decent amount of meat still on the bone in 2024
Get more blowjobs from his irritating fanbois who go on and on about him as if he is all of distance running. Blowjobs, massages (including a daily body-to-body massage from a Letsrun fanboi), whatever.
Didn't you call Jakob "low-class" and "trashy" because of his tatoos? Was that a projection? Look a the kind of drivel you're posting here. You only have blowjobs on your mind, you low iq hick. I can smell you through the screen, trailer park boy.
Strategically, he needs to keep getting fitter and race a few times. If he is in monster shape, he needs Kerr to be slightly off perfect.
Tactically, I think prime Kerr has the edge but anything can happen in 1500m (e.g. Kerr could trip). Personally I think JI's best best is to start the squeeze from 900m (600 to go) and see if he can break the field, but I really don't know.. Whatever Jakob does, Kerr will sit on him (or at least should) and its hard to see anyone dropping THIS Kerr. Maybe sending flu-riddled 'fans' up to Kerr for selfies after the rounds might help?
When I was at the peak of my career I found that i got my largest improvements through not having any cheat days. We used to implement the hard hills into our training on Saturdays followed by a track session in the evening often comprising of 25 x300 in 41s of 100 float recovery.
I also found semen retention was another way I could get that extra boost in my training and recovery. This is all stuff Jacob would be all over.
I really wish I got to race these boys back in my day, I think they would have been acually close to me and would have created some special moments in the sport.
When Paris is over, I'm going to write a book called the Goose and the Two bitches, staring Yared as the Goose and Jacob and Josh as the Bitches who I'm sick of hearing about.
Yared will be the goose that got the gold medal instead of the golden egg.
I am sure Jakob will be intensely studying how to beat Kerr by way of studying all these hobby joggers telling him how to outrun Josh THAT is for sure. It is Jakob's only shot to have a chance to outrun him.

This is a severely underrated post. The Goose and the Two Bitches. A literary classic, no doubt.
The cards are on the deck now. Jakob doesn't have the extra gear.
So what did El Guerrouj do in two weeks to beat Lagat back in 2004?
He lost by almost the exact same margin in Zurich 2 weeks before Athens and managed to turn the tables. Jakob (if he's going to) has almost 4 times as much time.
Maybe he will, maybe he won't. Maybe Kerr is simply a better 1500m runner than him now - maybe not. But the fact that so many people think that this is the end of Jakob based on one race at the end of May - his first damn race in what, 8 months? You guys can't be serious.
Agreed.
Anyone with any kind of knowledge about elite training and racing understands that Jakob is still in a buildup training phase and that Josh is riding a HUGE wave of confidence and running well. The workout Jakob posted on Youtube the week of Pre is a clear indicator that Jakob wasn't resting too much for this race, and the fact that this was his first race is 6 plus months and he ran 3:45. As I posted on a previous thread, Jakob has yet to really dig into his anerobic work and has 6 or so weeks to do so in addition to competing in a couple races to sharpen up. Kerr is fit, but now has taken the target off Jakob's back and has put it squarely on his. At this point in the season, Jakob is in a great spot and should only get faster over the next few months. The big question is if Josh can maintain his current level of fitness and improve on it leading into Paris.
Stockholm 1981. The vid was posted by Deano yes....but that doesn't invalidate the historical fact of this run. 2:12.18 just a few days before. Coe should have gone 3:28 here, I think he actually stated so in his biography and that would have matched his 800 and 1000 WR improvement margins from that same year.
Deano himself can tell us what would have happened here if Coe had been evenly paced at 55.0/1:51.0/2:48....but I think that's not necessary. We all know it.
So...a total and colossal waste of supreme form. I think this is even worse than even the early 2000s ElG/Lagat fartlek efforts described above.
While we’re on the topic of horribly paced 1500’s, Monaco 2020 deserves a dishonorable mention. The pacers went out in 52.5 and then 58 for the second lap and Cheruiyot possibly cost himself a WR by going with the pacemakers instead of staying with the chase pack, led by a 19-year-old Jakob. Cheruiyot still incredibly won the race holding off Jakob with both running 3:28. One of the pacemakers (Keter) ran 3:31 in Silesia, the same race where Jakob ran 3:27.14
He's doing fine, he ran a 3:45 mile on base work. Even that interval session that was posted on you tube, he said that it was a 30.3 km day that's almost 19 miles in one day at altitude. So he was training at altitude 18-20 miles a day with very little speed work and still runs 3:45. OMG! He himself said he will get faster as he transitions his training to lower mileage and more speed. He just needs to continue and follow his plan :)

And you all just swallow anything he says. I call BS. Jakob probably put himself though a lot of hurt getting back to this amazing fitness level. He didn't show up to Pre to come in second, that's for sure. I think we saw Jakob's 1500 ceiling last year. He doesn't have enough speed to outkick few of the amazing runners in the game right now. With the 5K in the mix, we won't be seeing an improvement in his kick so if he's going to improve it's going to have to be an overall significant drop in his nonpaced race times.
I'm going to take a wild guess though that like in every year, Jakob will only run paced races until Paris. He is going to once again breeze through the rounds, but they will be in the heat and it will take something out if him. He is destined to do what Tim did for him in Tokyo and take the race out hard enough to guarantee himself a silver or bronze. A race slower than 3:31/2 is a massive risk to his chances of being top 3. He knows he can't do that. The only question is whether he will really go for a 3:26 on his own.
