If trans athletes are not even allowed to train and practice with the team, then we also need to ban all cis men who are practicing with the women's teams. No more "male practice players" for the women's teams. Or should trans women be allowed to become practice players by pretending to be cis men only during the practice?
It is a mistake to get baited into conversations about whether they play, or play a lot, or score or displace other athletes or alter the team scores, or win anything, or about the level of sport at which it may or may not matter.
They shouldn't be on the roster. Nothing further needs to be discussed.
Why? I thought the argument was about "protecting women's sports." Why do they need to be "protected" from people who are not displacing anyone and not changing the outcome of the competitions?
Even the Republicans who sponsored HR 734 say trans athletes should be allowed to train and practice with the team. Is the D3 softball player at Chatham University endangering her teammates simply by participating in the team practice?
Because the person that is just on the team is on the field or court tomorrow. The person that isn't a threat and is just on the field is getting better and winning something tomorrow. Today's runner-up is tomorrow's winner. Once you open the door, XY humans walk through it, as we have seen.
That and the fact that they are XY humans and girls' and women's sports were always intended for XX humans.

I would support trans women participating like men do, as practice players, provided that just like practice players the rules state that they are not on the roster and can never compete in any girls' or women's sporting event, ever.
What I love is that the two of you could go back & forth for hours, and neither of you will ever ever change your position. Not one inch. So why not just call it off now and go for a run?

The "established position" of most people on this board is that no trans female should be allowed in women's sports under any circumstances.

Good for her. I am very happy to see transgender people being able to live as their correct gender instead of the one miss assigned to them at life.
The vitriol they get at this place is uncalled for and hateful but I do hope out in the real world where it matters everyone no matter where they are including the athletic field is accepted.

I’m happy to call them by their chosen name and pronouns. I can probably even get their on bathrooms given there are Individual stalls. But for biological males to be competing in women’s sports is completely unfair to women and for people like you to put the mental well-being above of one trans athlete above the possibility of success of all the other girls in the field is not right. And this is a fringe issue just now and 97% of the US/UK do not even know this is an issue. If you do not think that this becoming a campaign issue will make the left looking absolutely crazy to normal people (again - sports in particular - as I say I think most people get there on the names) you are wide of the mark.

Did you hear the boos at the Oregon High School State Meet? Do you think that the bleachers at a meet in Oregon are filled with M^GA Republicans?
Yes, elected Democrats need to come around, and I hope the polls will make that happen.
But ultimately restoring the rights of XX humans will come from the policy makers in sports, including and largely at levels that are international and not governed by what Americans want, or how we poll. Governing bodies like FINA, FIFA, and World Athletics must act and their rules must be adopted down the line.
If you want change, the best language is not to attack a side. It is to say, "There is agreements on both sides of the aisle, and from independents. An overwhelming majority of ALL Americans want to protect girls' and women's sports."

Sadie is a lot slower now she is on estrogen,and testosterone suppressants. She went from 23 flat,to now running 24.19,and her 400 is way outside what she ran as a boy.

The fact isn’t even in dispute that the athlete is biologically male, so it’s not just an accusation.
Like I said, openly cheating. Competed as a male previously, went through puberty as a male, felt entitled to trophies and medals so switched to an easier division.
Cheating? What rule on the books for this particular competition was broken?
