This workout filmed by Flotrack shows Jakob doing 12x400 (60sec) then 10x200 (200 jog) in Flagstaff before pre classic this Sunday. He was doing the 400s between 61 high to 63 and his he was decently low. He also states that the total volume for the day was 30k.

makes a lot of sense. before reading this post, i was amazed his heart rate for this threshold workout could be same as Jake Wightmans easy zone heart rate which he mentions in one of his vlog videos
What I really wanted was the lactate levels? No one knows them correct? I was trying to see if I could enlarge the monitor and figure it out but don't think they ever showed it or talked about it.
He seemed to purposely conceal those results. It must have been pre discussed that he did not want to say what his lactate numbers were. If I were Jakob, I’d keep that hidden as well.
Why? Wouldn't you want to keep your HR profile private before your lactate concentration? Knowing someones lactate levels doesn't reveal much because it's highly variable, more so than HR.
I agree that the paces he was hitting seemed slightly slower than I would expect from a 3:43 miler. He also stated, “That was pretty tough” after the 400s. The 200s looked good, but even someone out of shape can crush 10x200m.
What a stupid comment. For real! That is a new low on LRC. You realize he's at 7000 feet right? Holy crap tell us you don't know anything about distance running without telling us you don't know anything about distance running.

It's cool to be able to always show up and always be able to perform at the level that I'm able to do when I show up and not only do a championship and then go away for two years and kind of struggle in between
Was this Workout done at 7000 ft? If so, this guy is gonna break 343 and 7:20 this season or the next. I mean, he makes these paces look so easy.
High altitude like 7000 ft doesn't affect short intervals like 200/ 400s so much. Same with my elite Kenyans at similar altitude. My now best Kenyan did 15x 400m at 58-59 sec with 60 sec rest a month ago......

Yeah it's over, it's 4:10 milers that can do that workout.
4:10 milers can do 12x400 at race pace + 10x200 at 27s, at 7000ft, in the middle of a heavy training block, in the wind, alone, after a 25km in the morning session?
