MIAC 2024 Cross Country

Several Oles are training at altitude in exotic locales like Utah, Alaska, Colorado, and Montana. Do we think Power actually knows how to properly blood dope? When the Oles toe the line at the Carleton Regional with track marks, we'll know that he's finally cracked the code.

This is dumb. Even by the usual standards.

Schools like Olaf, Macalester, and Carleton have athletes from all over the country. It makes sense some of the live at altitude. Or some may even take vacations.

No one will be able to withstand the onslaught of the Carls this fall. Roy is working so hard to run over 7 minute pace but he can’t stop himself! He’s simply an aerobic god. Powered by sheer spit for himself, he will single handily destroy any hopes the oles or anyone else foolish enough to cross his path may still cling to. I predict Roy Gabe Indy Josh 1-4 sweep.

As long as it’s spit for himself and not spit-up on himself, he should be alright.

Cox is probably the best of the group. 10:10/4:36. At the rate he improved in the last year, he'll be hugely impactful very soon. McManus is a sub 2:00 relay guy that will allow the Gusties to remain Mid D U.

Congrats to Tommy Allen on being named Academic All-American. He joins Carter Grove and Lloyd Young as the class of the MIAC academically and athletically.

Interesting to see the Johnnies are going out of region this year for the Augustana meet. Good to see them doing the things necessary to qualify for the national meet. I'm hopeful for a big Fall from them despite the loss of Tommy & Lloyd.

Congrats to the Johnnies. This shows their coaching staff values the really important things.

I saw that Logan Bocovich was Academic All-American at his new school. So not only did he get faster after leaving Northfield, but he got smarter! Makes ya think.

thats true, another season of progression and by 2025 fall gusties might have a nasty team of Bauer, Pouliot, Janzen Cox Berge... only 1 will be a senior in 2025/26

Roy, Gabe, and Indy will all be seniors then and the Ricks magic will have 3 others ahead of all but Breuer by then.

I am a high school coach

i have a group of 5 seniors right now,

their 5k prs up to this point are, 15:39, 16:11 (these 2 want to go d1/d2)

16:15 , 16:50 and 16:55 (these 3 want to run d3 in college)

What are some young up and coming Miac Teams that will be good in 2027/28 that i could recommend these guys too... I have heard this conference is really good both academically and athletically as opposed to the Wiac or some west coast conferences.

The top schools are perennially St. Olaf, Carleton, & St. John’s. Macalester appears to be on the rise and Gustavus solidly in the upper half. Some schools have recruiting standards and others don’t. Connect with the coaches. You’ll only hear garbage takes on the message board.

Will Kelly was also Academic All-American and the Oles had eight athletes that earned USTFCCCA All-Academic but you missed that. Boco should have been Academic All-American last year. Congrats to the the others from the Region and MIAC, but his nationals finishes were way better with a very high GPA than some of the others. The Oles were very excited about Logan's award and Power sent a message to the team. Your hot takes on the imaginary dissent on the Olaf squad are growing stale.

Only Whitewater & La Crosse will beat the top two MIAC teams this year. And that's pretty much the trend.

Olaf was third the last two years. Carleton would have been third three years ago if Lavey didn't have an asthma attack.

One last year of super seniors... or if your Scholastica in outdoor track, you have 6 year seniors.

Regardless who's excited to see normal college aged athletes compete again while getting dusted by Mo, who will be the age exception to this trend.
