Only on Letsrun is the runner who loses the better runner. I'm sure Kerr is quite happy for Ingebrigtsen to be the "better runner" so long as he wins the titles.
You are just ridicuous.
Track and Field News has Ingebrigtsen as 1500m no. 1 for 2023. Not too difficult to see why: 4 fastest 1500m times, no. 4 all-time, no. 3 all-time in the Mile, silver at the Worlds.
Josh Kerr being around 2+ seconds slower than Ingebrigtsen. Worlds are important, but not everything.
Last year, Ingebrigtsen clearly was the better runner than Kerr. For this year we have to wait and see. Kerr is in great form and Ingebrigtsen yet has to race. Very interesting season to come.
I know you are not interested in this at - the astonishing thing really is, why are you spending hours every day commenting on something you have no interest for?
It takes very little time to make a comment. And I like to respond to those that miss the point.
You're missing the part where Kerr just ran an 8 minute 2 mile, a time that was seen as completely untouchable until Jakob ran 7:54. And YES, Jakob has ran 7:54 outside. Kerr didn't have any pacing lights too.
But Jakob has been injured for a large portion of the year, and Kerr has had a big jump in ability the past 12 months. So we can say with confidence that Kerr can obviously run a much faster mile and 5k than he has ran in the past. Will a fully fit Jakob beat this version of Kerr over 1500? Possibly, I wouldn't say probably. Jakob doesn't have the kick that Kerr has, Kerr also has the fitness to be there until the end too.
So it's much closer than you make out. It doesn't matter how many times Jakob beat Josh in 2020 or 2021. We are in 2024
Kerr has definitely gotten better, but the comparison is definitely still not there. This will mostly be answered by Pre and the olympic final, but as of now, Jakob is still #1.
Hopefully none of these two names will be crowned at the Olympics. There is an immense pressure in the Olympic finals.

1000 times "very little" is a lot.
You never comment the points which expose your nonsense.
Cringe...someone didn't watch the London Marathon a couple of weeks ago.
Correct. I didn't watch him get slower and lose to a guy no one has hear of in a garbage field. Also no one watches marathons.
2:04 on a very windy day after completely dismantling an absolutely loaded field of younger studs and second place by mere seconds; you have no idea what you're talking about do you?
Poor sad little pathetic Jakob fan boys living in the past. Kerr won their most recent matchup, he’s undefeated this year, and he’s broken a world record and added another gold medal to his collection this year. Jakob has done nothing this year.

The field was one of the weakest in memory. The winner ran 1 minute off his PR while Bekele ran about 3 minutes off his PR. He is old and he is done and is going backwards. No one is scared of him. It is not debatable. He is a legend becauae he WAS fast. Now he's just another 2:04 guy at this point and that is now 100 people and growing rapidly.

Anyone that calls a field that includes Tola, Geremew, Mutiso, Kamworor and Bekele a 'weak field' needs to be downvoted to oblivion. 2 of the fastest 7 marathoners in history and the winner of NYC, keep dreaming, clown.
Someone said “one is Olympic champ and one is not.”
I predicted that would change in about 3 months, meaning that Kerr would become Olympic champ this summer. Kerr winning a gold medal in Paris wouldn’t require Jakob’s gold medal from Tokyo being taken away.
If Kerr wins gold in Paris, the change is they would both have “Olympic champ” on their resume, not just one of them. Get it?
But he isn't a world champ in his main event. Kerr is - and beat him to win it.
No, he is just the Olympic champion in his main event, which is like.10x better. It is shocking people are born as dumb as you.
I doubt Jakob sees his Olympic title as compensating for losing three consecutive WC 1500 finals. He only runs to win. The Olympics were also 4 years ago. The WC were last year.
