Also they're all going to leave NAU with degrees. If running doesn't work out, they probably have the connections to start a perfectly fine career. I'm not sure why people would assume otherwise?
Said he chose NAU because of the culture and everyone on the team was super serious and he didn't see that at other schools.
I do agree everyone at NAU is going to be all in but assume that exists at Oklahoma State and others.
I once had a recruit whose grandparents had set aside a trust fund for his college education, so finances weren't an issue. He expressed his desire to attend NAU, but his mom jokingly remarked, "I want you to receive a quality education." As a result, the kid ended up going to Georgetown. Some students choose NAU with hopes of turning professional, which is fine, but in the long run, professional earnings often fall short.
For an elite runners, I don’t think how the school ranks academically, matters that much. Colin’s accomplishments in running will open a lot of doors for him, in either coaching or working for a shoe company. It’s possible that even Grant Fisher will never use his degree from Stanford.

You are officially a psycho. Leave the Newbury Park boys alone. You literally sit on you’re computer dreaming about them and have to replay on everything they do

FWIW, this is a similar message to that relayed by Theo Quax and Luis Grijalva on the Coffee Club podcast. They basically said it was like a professional training group, and they appeared to like how everyone was serious about excellence.
They said now everyone is the same though. Before it was more a mixed bag of colorful characters, it sounded like.
I was surprised Beamish majored in engineering, and he mentioned the biggest difference with pro life is all the time freed up from going to classes and studying. So I think the focus on academics can vary with the person, like at any school.
Mark Deady ran 3:35 in 1988 and made the Olympic team. That was world-class in 1988. Don't remember what Charles Marsala's PR's were before Kennedy got there. But he was also a stud.
What he said is kind of silly, and any runner, at any school, can be as serious about running as they want to be.
Of course you who’s obsessed with Newbury Park athletes needs to comment. Do you ever get off the boards and stop thinking about Newbury Park. You even have your name after the coaches quote. It’s getting beyond creepy.
You must have a shrine of Newbury Park in your house and pray to the Newbury Gods every night.
I don't support the personal attack, but the notion of a Newbury shrine and Newbury Gods is hilarious
With all due respect, the Sahlman brothers (esp Aaron) don't strike me as being particularly academically oriented, so I think NAU was a good choice for them.

Deady was three years ahead of Kennedy, but maybe he stayed in Bloomington to continue training. Anyway, in both of Kennedy’s bookend NCAA XC championships, no other runner from Indiana was in the race.

If you try it out on open mic night, you’ll be able to hear a pin drop.

Says a dude who names himself after the Newbury Park quote. Kinda of beyond CREEPY.
It's a HS team grow up and let them go
You really are an idiot. If you were to check my DL, you would note that I didn’t change my name. The Sahlmans, Youngs and Brosnan are long gone and are not a “HS team”. If I’m such a Newbury Park fanatic, why didn’t I post a single time on the 14 page “Newbury Park is back!” thread?
Please explain your thought process and how you went from me using a popular quote as a handle, to liking little boys. You can’t, and you’ll just respond another mindless insult, instead.
