Good things beautiful doesn't mean faster. There one thing cooler than looking fast and being fast and that's not looking fast and being even better. 💀 You still don't want to acknowledge the PED's haha.
Bro your mind is actually gone. Your arrogance to try to seem like you are better than me just a little kid is hilarious. Beauty does not mean speed hate to break it to you bud. But it's not scientific.
Good advice, he has gone insane, I mean his quote, "Jakob will therefore NOT RUN 12:15 ON EPO in 2024, more like 15:15----missing the target by a bomb!!!!!" proves that he is clinically insane, and based on the upvotes and downvotes this guy is nuts.
Nice share! This is a workout I do myself, though I go 14-15 reps and 1’ rest, as I’m not as fit as Jakob ha. He’s definitely already in pretty good shape, though he’s hitting more like 8k pace at this time. I bet by April, he’s able to hold 2:31-2:35 tempo throughout. If he stays healthy, I don’t really have any reason to believe he won’t be in 3:45-6 type shape (in good conditions) at Pre. Typically in May, the wind is bad, and the race is slower so we’ll see.
I think it's important to recognize this isn't the same workout as people are used to doing where they just run a bunch of hard 400s at 3000-5000 pace. The short rest is important for this to be a threshold workout, so you'll have to slow down to be able to finish the workout. You don't need to be an aerobic monster for this workout in general, you just need to do it a couple times (maybe with 45s rest first to get used to it) to dial in the paces for you. Obviously you gotta be a monster to do it at those specific paces, but I do this workout pretty regularly at ~8k pace (5:32/mile) and I don't think I'm abnormally fit. After a few times your HR just starts to plummet after about 25 seconds of rest as your body gets used to it.
Yeah, I agree. I think you need to be supremely trained aerobically to be able to handle 25 * 400 at 5K-10K pace with only 30 seconds rest. Something more like 12-15 reps with 60 seconds is closer in the ballpark of what I'd consider.
Is this really that hard of a workout? Like doing 6 x mile at 10K pace doesn’t seem crazy and that’s way harder than breaking it up into 400’s
“Handle” in this case doesn’t mean able to do the workout. It means be able to do the workout two days after a double tempo, with another tempo later that day, and two more tempos two days later, and then repeat that several weeks in a row.
25x400 with short rest is a great workout, I frequently do something similar. What surprises me is that he says he does this same session every single week. I guess when you're doing 5+ interval workouts a week it makes sense to repeat them.
