A few other points: Jordan was only a 32.7% career 3-point shooter, Pippen 32.6% and Kukoc 33.5%. The Bulls were not a great 3-point shooting team, but that didn’t matter in their era. Yes, Kerr was accurate, but he was mostly shooting open 3s. He wasn’t shooting 3s off the dribble or 30 foot step-backs over 7-footers.
Of course, you couldn't shoot a step back 30 footer because that would be a travel. You generally couldn't shoot 3s off the dribble due to the hand check rule--hard to be accurate from 23 feet when you get nudged on take off. It's why the mid range game was a thing--you can hit the 15 footer with some contact and always having a 7 footer at the rim discouraged dunking.
Reggie Miller would launch 3's any time he was open in the front court--often well back from the 3 point line. In the 90's you couldn't do that off the dribble so spent much of his time running around picks and had a mid range game to be able to get more shots (as he wasn't going to be able to finish at the rim with Olajuwon there).
With the 3 second defensive rule, no hand checking, and no fear for his safety due to no hard fouls, how many dunks would Jordan get in a typical game?
