But let's accept your argument at face value. Let's go by the argument of - we bend to whomever it impacts personally. Let's see here. To force the guy to compete in boys sports negatively hurts 1 person, but it helps all of the girls in the HJ final. So it hurts 1 and helps like 15.

PS. It blows my mind that so many liberals rip Trumpers for not accepting the facts of the election tabulations when they themselves won't except scientific facts.

Of course they have indirectly impacted me but you said "personally." That means my run, my meals, my family, my day-to-day, my struggles and my kids. Those things have not been impacted by the war in Ukraine, no. But that doesn't mean I don't care about it.

And as for "youth sports not mattering because it is not life or death" you are wrong. Things don't have to be life or death to matter.

Girls and women's rights matter even though women don't instantly drop dead in countries and historical eras where they don't have rights.

Though if you think about it, women do have a higher mortality in nations where they don't have equal rights, so I guess girls sports is pretty important. Even "life or death," so to speak.

And it does impacet people - lots of people. I was talking to my liberal friend - who once wrote speeches for HRC - about your "How does it impact you argument?" She said, "Why don't you tell them about my daughter?"

She dresses like a tomboy for 2nd grade in school in DC. Overall, jeans, never a dress. People ask her all the time, "What are you? Non-binary - a guy?"

It's crazy. Instead of being a tomboy, you are now presumed to be trans in 2nd grade? It's crazy.

Liberal here, living in a very liberal area, and also frustrated with this. What I found is, most people who ignore these facts are not really "sports" people to begin with. They don't understand and don't value the concept of competition. They mostly think it's silly to care so much about who won a race.

I coached a female athlete to her first state championship last year. I wish they could all see the impact it had on my athlete and her self-confidence, how rewarding the whole experience was. Girls deserve the opportunity for fair athlete competition.

So, biological girls should have to lose so that boys who want to believe that they can choose to be girls even without any biological or surgical interventions will be happy. Why should there even be a girls division if boys can compete in it?

There is a middle ground that allows for ripping both groups. Aren’t they both crazy?

Watch it. The left tells us if we don't let them compete in HS athletics - in the sex of their choice - they will kill themselves. Normally when someone threatens to kill themselves in an argument, it's viewed as a sign of mental instability/insanity but in this case we are told to bow down to it.

Dude. It’s a major war. It has sent price shockwaves around the globe. Unless you consume nothing that has oil in it’s supply chain it has DIRECTLY impacted you. That’s my point - a war matters in a tangible way to people around the globe in a way a regional track meet does not.

It is true not everything has to be life or death to matter. It is also true that not everything that upsets a few people is of any real importance. All sorts of people have lost all sorts of contests for various reasons and well adjusted people GET OVER IT. Proportion matters. Women have plenty to worry about besides high jumping.
