Don't get ahead of yourself. You're worried about what seriously dating might look like when you're not even sure you'll get a second date. Go out, have fun, and see what happens.

Not a great start. If she reads letsrun, or any of her friends do, she will know you are dumb enough to ask an anonymous running forum for dating advice (surely there are not that many 1:06-1:09 half marathoners who just got offered a date by an elite athlete).

You are both accomplished runners, so she should be well aware of Bekele if she has a brain. You can talk loads about Bekele. Tell her that he is your inspiration for running. Also use the opportunity to compliment her. Tell her that she is like a female Bekele. I don't think Bekele has ever been to Canada. Maybe you could joke something like, I wish Bekele could join us for a few beers. Talk about how you want to be in a race with him and stand at the start line with him, and tell her she is fast and has the potential to be not out of place at the start line with him too.

Ask her if her legs are tired because you have been thinking of her all day. Talk about other stuff too like her you wish Jordan Peterson became your president. Tell her that you know a famous letsrunner from Edmonton and then get her excited about going there for your second date. Invite her on other excursions like Moose hunting in Nunavat or hiking the Yukon trails. You will look super interesting to her, and not just a one dimensional runner like most of us sadly are.

Also be a bit of an arsehole on your first day because girls like bad boys. Get her to pay, and tell her that you will pay for the next date with your winnings from the upcoming local race. Girls also like this confidence.

I am the female the OP has posted about. While I appreciate his honesty, I would like for him to ask me out via PowerPoint before I say yes.

Go on the date and politely tell her you're not the right guy for her, because clearly you're not if you're second guessing the date "offer" and assuming you'll date her before it's even happened.

I spent four years surrounded by top level D1 runner chicks. That was enough time for me to know to avoid them in my professional / dating life as an adult. I'm not joking.

Expert here. You need to open your wallet. Make her feel like it's a vacation hanging around you. Treat her to expensive dinner, 5-star hotel room together. Perhaps even courtside tickets or similar. Offer to go for massage or pedi/manicure. If you can't do this, then date lower value women.
