Perhaps the biggest flop of all time. She was steaming from her 7 turnover, 4 rebound performance. Ultimate definition of a ball hog.
She averages 31.7/7.0/7.7 (48% FGs, 40% from 3). Yes, she averages a decent # of turnovers (4.4/game) but she also has the ball in her hands the whole game. It's not because she's a ball hog (has averaged between 7.1 & 8.6 assists/game throughout her career) -- she's head & shoulders above everyone else. She's the #1 WNBA projected pick.
As far as that clip goes, court storming stuff/player safety should be taken more seriously than some sharp take like she flopped. She collided with that fan. It didn't look like she initiated the contact. Sure, she threw her head back almost like she was trying to draw a foul. Maybe more instinctual than anything else. But we should be asking ourselves if we're doing everything we can for player safety.
David Jones on Memphis was pushed in the back by some drunk 18 year old during another court storming over the weekend. He just walked away but imagine if he decided to clock the kid? Imagine how quick the NCAA would've gotten involved. Gotta do a better job protecting the athletes. & then there was the Pitt kid who jumped on the scorer's table @ Duke. He shouldn't have done that but all the kids were shouting & flipping him off. Could've turned ugly/glad it didn't.
Yes, this is what happened. However, most of the press headlines ran Clark Collides With Ohio State Fan. No. Ohio State Fan collides with Clark. Not Clark's fault.
Is Caitlin Clark the new LeBron or Reggie Miller of women's college basketball? Those are the allegations being thrown around Monday as new video emerges
I know court storming has its risk, but I've never had more fun watching sports than when I rushed the court. It's high of on my list of most fun things ever. I did storm from the front row, so maybe the makes it more fun, but idk.
College sports fans rush the court way to often nowadays and it's lost what made it special. It used to be reserved for wins so crazy that the fans went into pandemonium - not just because it was a simple "big win." It should be RARE that fans storm the court during the regular season, not a weekly occurrence. It was either Duke or Arizona (I can't remember) but they had a streak going where every time they lost, they had the court rushed. Literally every time.
Court rushing should only happen - 1.) National Championship (or an unexpected Conference Championship) 2.) Buzzer beater against a rival 3.) Winning a close game against a team ranked #1 (NO exceptions to ranking)
Side note - A school with the resources like THE Ohio State should never rush the court/storm the field. Doesn't matter what sport.
Suddenly people care about women’s basketball? I’m not reading a single post, but based on the hits these threads get, LRC vastly underestimates the impact women’s BB has.

I wish the interest in this was a sign that women’s basketball was taking off, but I’m realistic about it. Basically, Caitlin Clark is a viral phenomenon. I don’t really understand why X goes viral whereas as Y does not, but she has gone viral since about this time last year, and that’s a fact. Certainly she’s a fantastic player and she SHOULD be recognized, but there’s also a viral element to the interest in her, and if this was any other player almost nobody would care. Maybe if it was Britney Griner in the WNBA, or one of the LSU players who went viral (in a very different way) among right-wing hater types last year, this would get attention as well. But for example, if it was any of Clark’s teammates literally no one would even know about this.
She literally got injured only because she ran into a fan who was standing on the court. Had she walked off the court--the smart thing to do with lots of people in the way--she would have been fine. In what world is it smarter to run through a crowd?

I have seen the video many times. From some angles it looks like she creates contact. Certainly exaggerated result of it. She gets dinged all game every game.
shooting close to 40% with a smaller ball thru regular hoop is good, its not exceptional beyond belief
she takes a lot of tough shots is is tightly defended every game
she does have a "me first" mentality and often gestures at team mates errors
