That’s ridiculous. Cheating to run fast in one’s 60s is extremely unlikely.
You're right. It's just pointless. I suppose if someone said that you can cheat for one year and make enough money to live comfortably the rest of your life people would be tempted but that's clearly not the case with master's running.
Some people just cheat because they are cheaters. Do kleptomaniacs always need the things they steal? Did the patriots need to cheat in every game in order to win? Winning at something meaningless like master's running probably fulfills some desperate and pathetic plea for attention for these guys, even if they have to cheat to do it. Not saying that they are all cheating, but some of the times they are posting are outlandish.
