Seidel mentioned in a podcast a few weeks ago having a minor knee niggle, but she said it had improved. But her massive decline in volume last week, and not yet logging any miles yet this week on Strava..have me a little concerned.
That's just the way Seidel looks and doesn't mean she's laboring. Her facial expression/eyes usually gives that impression and her form has never been pretty. Flagpole once did a post (not about Seidel) on observing how unfit people hold their hands with palms facing backwards. Seidel is a world-class athlete but does this sometimes while running—part of what makes her form look ungainly.
Here is Seidel looking strained in the face (28:24 into video) while blowing by Bates at NCAA 10000 in 2015. Also does the palm backwards arm swing a few times:

Just watched that NCAA video. It is not anything like Molly's Instagram video. In the NCAA video, Molly has bounce in her step and is running fast. In Molly's Instagram video, she has no bounce and is slow. These two videos are not of the same fitness level.
And how did Emma Bates get so much faster than Molly over the years when she (almost) got lapped by Molly in the 10000m?

It was 9 years ago. Why isn't Morgan McDonald running sub 13 considering he won his NCAA title over Grant Fisher?
I thought the video stated Bates was a Senior, but her TFRRS indicates she was a Junior.
The bigger fallacy was thinking “Bates is so much faster than Molly”. Their PB’s listed at the IAAF site are amazingly close to each other over many distances.
I don't know why she hasn't been posting her workouts. She has not announced any injuries. But it is a worry. Simple enough? Your post about the video was, I believe nonsense. If it turns out you are right as she was injured, I would call it a real lucky shot and concede you were right. I am not going after you here at all. Only saying I think it was not a valid observation in this case. But boy I would be happy if we hear from her. She had stopped her instragram posts a week or so earlier so this may have nothing to do with her training. And yes, she is fit.
She announced she was not sharing strava as much because of creepy stalkers from airplanes.
From the recently Instagram post Molly made of her training with a group of women a few days ago. Watch her contorted facial expressions and laboured gait as she tries keeping pace with the group that isn't even running that fast. This is not the body language of a fit marathoner.
It's crazy- she's an American Olympic Medalist. People have been looking and hoping for her to fail ever since.
Her training looks good overall and I really hope she makes the team.
What is it about some of the losers who post here about almost trying to will elites to failure.
If she ran a 2:15 marathon they'd be calling it drug enhanced. If she runs slow they attack her. It just doesn't make sense. There's a bunch of losers looking for any way to bring our elites down.
What did I just watch? Dk why I gave into this thread. Seidel doing an ez 24 miler versus Sisson running a tempo. Of course they look different at different speeds.
Molly is actually the best marathoner in the US. She's not the fastest, but she adapts to a wide variety of conditrions better than anyone else, she understands how to train, she knows when to back off, and she surprises in races far more often than she disappoints. Her haters don't like her social media content or her honesty, but if you're criticizing her based on her running, you're not a serious person.
Actually, I think it’s her honesty that rubs some the wrong way- the guy supposedly mansplaining training to her, the coverup of her adderall usage, pretending to be injured but running a 30k rough trail race at altitude, etc.

I remember that from a long time ago but she has been very active posting her runs after a hiatus. BUT you may have a point because the one exception is she indicated once she didn't want to post runs from her family home in Wisconsin. She posts everything most of the time but IF she has left Flagstaff for Wisconsin for the last few weeks before the marathon, that could be the reason.
Molly is smart enough to know she doesn't have to be the fastest. Be talented and the most determined because all the variables/elements that come with racing 26.2 miles doesn't mean the fastest will win. Molly looks well enough to compete and I wish her the best. I'm just a biased Molly fan.
I actively route against her. Her smug, snarky attitude in interviews rubs me the wrong way. Des Linden has a similar attitude but not as blatant. I hope she finishes 4th in the Olympic Trials Marathon.
