buying followers or not, on "regular photo posts", likes as a percentage of followers has plummeted recently (though looking at the timing of likes is still a good indicator of if they are bought or not, a low like number may actually indicate FEWER bots following the account). Reel views is what you should look at now. My wife is an influencer of sorts. Has 60k followers. While her regular posts will only receive a few hundred likes now, down from thousands before, her reels will still be viewed by tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands.

Thats incorrect. Posts show more. There are ways to market a video / Reel and posts are much harder to get into the algorithm outside your followers. also it’s easy to see a fake follower. Look at Stephenie Bruce and Emma Coburn and they obviously have many fake followers
Makes sense. Look at the amount of followers someone has and the amount of engagement. This is the first sign of buying followers. These three have a lot of fake followers after just checking. Good magnum P.I work
Yeah, if I were betting, I'd definitely bet on Emma and Steph having fake followers. Emma is a little more questionable.
Emma has 60% more followers than Femke. That seems pretty suspect.
Bom dia Matthew. You never gonna beat them so just join them. Buy a few thousand and you won’t have to use your silly podcast to complain or slander your competitor media platforms.
Ultimately athletes can buy whatever number of followers they like.. if they don’t deliver decent times or create exciting content then they prob won’t get the pay days anyway.
I got a message 3ish years ago (maybe 4) telling me about Brenda Martinez and asking me to follow her. She was essentially past relevance at the time. It was weird.
Does buying followers involve random fake accounts following you? Or are you paying to have a representative go around and advertise your profile?
It's amazing the amount of anonymous slander that occurs on these boards. If everyone's identities were known, 99% of if would disappear. Don't want to get sued now do you? Easy to throw out all kinds of lies and accusations with zero evidence to back it up when folks don't know who you are.

I had to look up and see who Stephanie Bruce was. She seems like a nice person. More of a mom type runner. Seems positive, but does have a boat load of fake followers. I do know who Emma Coburn is and myself and teammates have always noticed her fake followers. We just thought it was funning and shallow. Emma Bates on the contrary has a profile that seems legit.
He has provided zero evidence, yet presents his statement as "truth" with nothing to back up this speculation. Perhaps the OP would like to prove me wrong by clarifying the methodology he used to check the validity of every single one of the 1000s of followers of these women?
Also, let's not forget that they have flagged only three successful women; not a single man.
So, the real question is why has the OP done this? Jealousy? Misogyny? Being angry that all these women do their jog recoveries faster than he can run? It would be great if he'd explain.

Relax killer. Women have a bigger presence for obvious reasons and tend to want more IG exposure. I think whoever is right on with people and top pro's who buy followers. Its not hard to tell and embarrassing for the athletes.

100% . If anyone wants to find a pro guy who buys followers pleas add to the thread. From this top three Coburn and Bruce are definitely guilty of buying fake followers.
Pretty sure The Running Effect buys followers on Instagram
I’d be extremely surprised. Dominic has multiple times shared screenshots on his story of reels that have performed well and how many followers gained from them. I remember this Andy Wheating one got 2 million views and gained him 3,000 followers alone. All his reels do surprisingly well and that’s how you get followers these days.
As a general rule of thumb I look for big jumps in following without a post doing really well. If that happens, most likely followers were bought. In the case of Emma and a few others discussed, they’ve had pretty natural and consistent growth over the years
